Chapter 8

After the battle had come to an end, I along with Uraraka and Bakugou were sent back to the monitoring room to assess our performance. I stood next to Uraraka as All Might prepared to announce the best grade of the trial.

"THE V.I.P IN THIS BATTLE WAS... (LAST NAME)!"

I gawked.

What?! How did I-

"DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I CHOSE YOUNG (LAST NAME)?" All Might asked aloud. I coward slightly at all of the glances I was getting from the other students.

"I do." Yaoyorozu said, raising a hand into the air. I glanced at her as she emerged from the crowd of students to explain.

"(Last name) showed the greatest performance in this trial because she was able to exploit her enemies weaknesses and adapt to her surroundings. She never once became distracted from her task at hand, showing great discipline."

I wanted to smile as if Yaoyorozu's explanation on my reason for success was a compliment. Though my smile quickly faded when Yaoyorozu continued to explain each of the other student's flaws in battle. I grimaced, thinking that the girl maybe went a little to far on her critiques.

All Might's smile seemed to grow more and more forceful as the charcoal haired girl droned on and on...

"YES... OF COURSE... YOU'RE CORRECT." All Might gave a weary thumbs up, ending the presentation. I sighed once the grading was over. Next up in battle was Team B and Team I. Which if I'm correct, Team B would be Todoroki and Shoji, and Team I would be Oijro and Hagakure.

I slouched my shoulders and comfortably stood next to Uraraka, my head still hurting every so slightly. I jolted out of a daze when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I arched my back and squeaked in surprise. Whipping my body around, I nearly slapped Kirishima and Kaminari as they came out of the crowd to greet me. Kirishima caught my hand in time before I could accidentally slap him.

"Ah! Sorry! I almost hit you!" I clenched my eyes shut in fear, an embarrassed blush dusting my (skin tone) cheeks.

"It's okay! You didn't hit me." Kirishima giggled. Kaminari burst out laughing, tears creeping out of the corners of his eyes. I sputtered a little bit before a full-blown laugh escaped my throat.

That was so stupid!

"You did great (Last name)! That battle was so intense!" Kirishima spoke, a genuine sharp-toothed smile plastered on his lips.

"Ah! Thank you so much!" I grinned, my hands automatically flying up to scratch my head, my laugh subsiding.

"Yeah (Last name), you handled everything like a boss!" Kaminari gushed, his mellow yellow eyes glistening.

"I try!" I giggled, my hands dropping comfortably to my sides.

"I bet you guys are gonna do great! I'll be cheering for both of you!" I clasped my hands together, a hopeful expression on my face.

"Aw thanks a ton (Last name)!" Kirishima put his hands comfortably on his hips.

Kaminari gave a cheeky thumbs up, a wink following shortly after.

"ALRIGHT CLASS SETTLE DOWN! THE BATTLE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!" All Might declared, his hands gesturing to the live monitoring system. I watched the screen intently, my focus directed to Todoroki as he entered the building, leaving Shoji outside. After about 30 seconds of Todoroki walking around the 1st floor, he placed a hand on the nearest wall to him and froze the entire building! My jaw dropped as the heterochromatic male casually removed his hand from the wall to admire his work.
