Ali's POV

I moved towards Alyssa and I saw her eyes turn hot pink, same as her cheeks. I smiled at that and her face became furiously red.

We were only a few inches away from each other now. I leaned in so I could whisper into her ear.

"We need to clear the area to build a camp, no need to be shy" I said

"Shy?! I am not shy sir Ali" she said backing away from me, her eyes turning to leafy green-green was her happy color so the lighter the green the happier she is- "In fact I will clean the area better than you ever could" she said grinning.

That made me sad. I remembered how competitive she was before any of this happened, her personality, her attitude, her kindness. Before this mission she was just a normal girl. Well as normal as she could have been at the time.

I felt my eyes turn navy blue-meaning I was sad- and Alyssa looking with her now a sunflower yellow eyes filled with curiosity.

"Why do your eyes change color?" She asked

"The same reason yours do" I replied not believing the fact that she had forgotten.

"What?" She asked her eyes showing she was more confused than curious.

I sighed and tried to tell her this in the best way possible. "You're like me, a Parivartak, our eyes change color to reflect the emotions we are feeling. I only found out about this a week ago and I have been practicing with a man who has been teaching me how to control it." I said looking at her as she took all this information in.

She was silent for a while. "How many are there like us?" She asked

"Only you and me" I said

She stared at me, her eyes changing from a yellow back to emerald green. "Look I understand that you want to help me but I can't believe you, I only met you a couple of hours ago and I have no memory of you. I hope that I can remember you somehow but until then I think you and I should stay away from each other for a while" she paused to take in my reaction, it must have been pretty bad because she quickly said,

"Not that I don't like you, I do trust me I do, but right now I need to focus on trying to remember and recover, and if what you say is true then learn. I hope this man you're taking us to has knowledge on how to help me and cure me"

She looked at me her eyes glowing blue and yellow.

I smiled and felt my eyes turning their original brown and said "I understand, I will try my best"

Her eyes turned back to emerald green and she sighed with relief.

"Great, Let's make clean in the middle of a god forsaken forest!"
