PART XI
LOOKING GOOD
My smile vanished at the speed of light. I tried hard to stay composed and normal, but the truth is I was hurting. A fiery pain in my chest submerged me and my eyes went humid. As we walked into the cafeteria, I had regain a little of my concentration to keep my face expressionless. I was an actress after all.
He had a girlfriend… We spent all this time together and never did he mention Daisy to me! Never has it crossed his mind to tell me he was unavailable. Maybe we weren’t as close as I thought we were…
As soon as we sat at a table with our trays of food, Arthur came to us and sat down next to me.
“Hey, Cadence Sarah Hill, Matthew Robert Smith and whoever you are,” he gestured to my sister, “are formally invited to my own going away part that will be in this very room tonight,” he announced to us.
Though Karen’s character died, Rory was still alive and in the past few episodes, mourning over Amelia. Very sad, really. He falls into a terrible depression and the Doctor does everything to try and cheer him up though he is aching with the pain of her lost as well. In the last episode that we filmed, we said goodbye to Rory and today he filmed a scene of him going home to an empty house alone. I didn’t spend as much time with Arthur as I did with Matt, but he had also become a good friend of mine.
“You know my middle name isn’t Sarah, Arthur, it’s Hope. And this is my sister, Stacy Taylor Hill,” I explained.
“Anyway, can I count on seeing you three tonight?” he smiled hopefully.
“I’m there,” Matt answered.
“So am I,” I nodded.
“As much as I would love to go to a celebrity party, I can’t,” Stacy pouted, “I have work tomorrow morning and have to be on the road to London after this diner.”
“Well, that’s a shame. At least you two are coming!” he smiled widely.
“Wouldn’t miss it,” Matt added before taking a bite of his salad.

I drank. A little more than I should have. The music was booming and I was sitting on a chair, drinking a vodka and 7up mix while giving Matt an angry look. How could he not tell me he had a girlfriend? I was pissed and drunk and that meant nothing good could come out of it. He was talking to Moffat in a corner, sipping on a beer probably telling him stories about his oh so lovely Daisy. What kind of name is Daisy anyways? It’s so… childish. I hated it. Or maybe I just hated her.
No no! Cadence, you can’t possibly hate her, you don’t know her! Maybe she’s brilliant and Matt and her are perfect for each other...
I took another big gulp of my drink. Matt looked over at me and smiled that beautiful smile of his. That was it. I loved this man and I wasn’t going to sit back! I stood up – and nearly fell soon after – and did what I thought was marching when really I was walking with wobbly legs towards Matt. But before I reached him, Arthur appeared in front of me out of nowhere.
“Cadence, enjoying your night?” he smiled.
I nodded to him while examining his face closely. He looked… so much hotter than usual – only later did I realize it was because I was drunk, but at the moment, he was so attractive.
“Wow, you’ve had a little to drink,” he laughed as I stumbled a little and held myself up with his shoulder.
I laughed along without knowing why.
“Rory… you look so good tonight,” I slurred.
A blush went up in his cheeks.
“Oh, hum, thank you,” he chuckled. “You must be really drunk.”
“Not at all!” I denied.
A wild idea crossed my mind. I wanted to get over Matt, he was taken and that was the end of it. I could concentrate on someone else.
“Arthur, are you single?” I asked.
“Well, yes I am,” he answered.
I nodded my head happily.
“Good,” I smiled.
I took him by the front of his shirt and pulled him with me out of the room. He was letting himself be dragged, because I knew I didn’t stand a chance if he were to resist.
I brought him into the room right in front of the cafeteria and pushed him onto one of the couches.
“What are you doing?” he asked, but he had an idea.
“Relax,” I slurred.
I sat on his lap – which was difficult considering my mental state – and I pressed my lips against his. I kissed him furiously and he didn’t fight it, instead he depended the kiss and placed his hands on my waist.
For a good 5 minutes, we were making out like this. Our lips only detached when Moffat and some producer guy walked in. Arthur looked horrified of being caught in here, I was lost.
Moffat gave us a stern look and Arthur pushed me off of him and stood up.
“Sorry, sir,” he said as he walked out of the room, head down.
The two men looked over at me who was on the couch with a confused and drunk expression.
“Do you think she’ll be worst than Karen?” the producer asked.
“Nah, she couldn’t possibly be,” Moffat answered and closed the door as the two left.
