I got through most of the day without anything bad happening. It was during the last class when I saw him again.
"Matthew Honeycutt. You can sit wherever there is an empty seat."
I looked around to see that the only empty seat was next to me.
Shit. Why me?
He walked over and sat down next to me. When the bell rang I grabbed my belongings and hurried outside to the bus. I went to the back seat since my stop was the last one. A few minutes later others started getting on. The last one was Matt. I hoped he didn't sit next to me. He walked back and sat down next to me.
Why?
"Hey Rose."
I ignored him and put my headphones on. He tapped me on the shoulder and I looked over.
"What?"
"I was asking you if you wanted to hang out later."
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"My brother wouldn't let me." I lied. He would think of it as me making friends.
"Oh ok."
When the bus stopped by my house I got off. I didn't turn around to see who else got off. I walked towards my house, but someone grabbed my shoulder.
"Rose. Stay away from Matt. He's mine."
Amanda.
"You understand. I will expose your secret if you don't do what I said," she said letting go and walking away. I went to my house and Stefan was in the kitchen.
"Hey Rose. You are coming with me tonight to Jason's."
"No."
"Rose. Please. I don't like you being alone."
"Fine."
"Okay. We are leaving now. Come on."
I followed him out the door and to Jason's house.
