Chapter Three

6:45 AM

I was waiting in the boarding area of the airport for my plane. I had already been in the airport for about an hour, and I have to admit it was getting pretty boring.

I got my earphones out of my bag and plugged them into my iPhone and clicked shuffle. The first song that came on was 'Alleyways' by The Neighbourhood. One of my all time favorite bands. I started to lightly hum to the lyrics as I slowly began to daydream until it was time to board the plane.

(Skip plane ride)

I had just gotten all of my luggage from the baggage claim and now I had to go find my grandma who was picking me up. Once I spotted her I quickly ran over to her to give her a hug.

"Grandma! It's been so long!" I told her. "I know sweet pea!" Gosh I always hated that nickname. "Well let's get all of your luggage put into the car and head home! Oh and Addison, I have a surprise for you for when we get there." She said with a smirk.

We had just arrived at her house and I brought all of my bags up to their guest room. I had already said 'hi's' and 'I've missed you too's' to my grandpa so he went back to work afterwards. As I was unpacking all of my belongings in the drawers my grandma knocked on the door.

"Come in!" "Hey sweetie! Well here is the surprise I was telling you about!" She handed me a small envelope with my name written on it. "Your mother told me to give it to you when you got settled into the house. Go on. Open it!"

I ripped open the envelope to find a piece of paper with something that looked like a concert ticket on it. I started to read what it said but I stopped reading about half way because I was in so much shock. "G-g-grandma. Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh." "Well what is it? Your mother never told me."

"SHE FREAKING GOT ME A TICKET TO THAT MUSIC FESTIVAL I WAS TELLING YOU ABOUT!"

"Really? Oh my gosh darling! I'm so happy for you! When is it?" "It's in two days!"

"Well I guess that means you need a new outfit..." She handed me another envelope that said 'From grandpa and grandma'.

I opened it to see there was nearly 200 dollars neatly folded in the envelope. "Grandma, you didn't need to do that!"

"Sweetie just think of it as a welcome back gift!" "Thank you so much! I love you!" "You can borrow the car tomorrow and go shopping or to do whatever you want to do. Just make sure to you are back by 5 PM because I'm going to be making a nice dinner for us." She said while walking out of the door.

I started getting ready for bed thinking about all of the music artists I would be seeing in a couple of days. The Neighbourhood, Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg, Haim, You Me At Six, The Maine, London Grammar, and basically everyone else I listen too.

I turned off the bedroom light and slipped into bed slowly falling asleep dreaming about the soon to come festival....

(Btw I just made up the artists at the festival idk if there even is a music festival like that so just go along with it)

Ok once again I know it is very short but I needed to upload something because I'm not going to be able to update for about two weeks because I'm going to be on vacation. But when I get back I will make sure to upload some super long chapters and the story line is just about to play in!
