Chapter 20

The Forbidden City, The Land of the Dead Part 3

( Jazimyne's P.O.V )

My mouth dropped to the floor and my eyes kept growing wider as I stared at the city. Images of the fire and screaming people in their homes kept flashing into my head and I felt tears form in my eyes. I stumbled back and Wendy caught me. I kept looking at the city and could only see burning buildings through my eyes.

I stood up properly and I tried to clean my eyes. Wendy held my arms and pulled me close to her. I slowly fell down from her arms and sobbed by her side. She sat down beside me and I clutched her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

"This is where I was. The nightmare, this is the burning city!!" I whimpered. She stared into my eyes and hugged me tightly once more. I let my tears flow as I saw more images from my nightmare.

"Listen Jazimyne, I don't know how the nightmare came into your mind. Wait, what did you do before you went to bed?" She asked.

"I read a comedy and horror book before I slept. That might be the reason why..?" I whispered back.

"Honestly, I don't think that's what caused your nightmare, I think it's because of..." She stopped talking when she was about to say why.

I looked at her with confusion and tears. She let go of me and just stared at the city with a dark glare. I got up and looked in the direction she was. She gasped and her eyes widened. I looked at her and back to her direction she was looking at. I didn't see anything bad, so I had to wave my hand in front of her eyes.

"Um...earth to Wendy, you alright?" I questioned. She blinked and shook her head.

"No, it can't be..." She muttered.

"What?" I asked frizzled. (Yes, I'm making up words now because I can't think of anything other than confused. -m-")

She shook her head as if to say no. I took a step towards the city and Wendy grabbed my arm. Her eyes were still wide, and were changing colour from hazel to a faint dark red. Her hands turned into claws and her hair went into a navy blue. I gasped in horror as I struggled from her grip on my arm. Tears fell down my face because her claws were digging into my skin, making me slightly bleed. I stared into her eyes and she focused on me.

She was the monster?!

She let go of me and looked at her figure. She looked at me with fear and concern in her eyes. Was she afraid of me..? I slowly took a step near her and she jumped back.

"Wendy, it's okay. I'm not scared of you." I said determined. She calmed down and slowly came up to me and I held my hand out. She put her head in my hand and I rubbed my hand along her fur. Why didn't she tell me before about this? She must've been afraid of how I would react to her, being a creature and all.

( Daisy's P.O.V )

I fell to the floor and held my arm as the monster got closer to me. My eyes widened and shut them, prepared for death. It screamed and fell to the ground, twitching from the arrow in its neck. Mona lent her hand out to me and I quickly grabbed it, letting her help me get up. I looked around at everyone fighting of the creatures. They were some sort of legendary creatures, like a werewolf. They came out of nowhere, they just attacked.

I heard a scream coming from the woods and I sneaked my way around the battle. I carefully walked through the bushes to find another werewolf with a girl. They were cuddling up against each other, I found this suspicious so I stepped through the bush and they stared at me.

( Jazimyne's P.O.V )

I heard a rustle through the bushes and saw a girl come through. Wendy and I looked at her and the image popped back into my mind. The girl with the tears who was once the monster, that was her. Wendy got up and stood in a protective stance and growled. I stood up behind her and the girls eyes widened. I saw tears form in her eyes and she fell to the ground on her knees. She collapsed on the ground and cried.

What was going on?

I took a few steps in front of Wendy and she growled. I whispered into her ear and I kneeled down to the girl. I tapped her shoulder and she gave me a sad expression. The image was exactly like her, the ruined clothes and hair, the dull eyes...it said it all. I lent out a hand and stood up, she hesitated but grabbed my hand anyways. She wiped her tears away and gave me a small grin. I smiled back and she gave me a wider smile.

"I'm happy you're safe Terina, just be careful." She whispered into my ear.

Terina? Who is that?
