I don't have anything against iris!

brinnng!

the soft doorbell rang. I perked my head up from my front-desk-perch.

"hello! welcome to amaline's! is there anything I can help you with?" I said without thinking.

what I assumed to be a couple came in. the male, a tall lanky figure with bouncing ringlets on top if his head, deep brown eyes. the female, standing straight next to him and clinging to his arm, she had straight blonde hair cascading over her shoulders and an unidentifyable color eyes. green? grey? blue? I couldn't tell from where I was.

"thank you for asking! we would are-" the male started, but the blonde interrupted. "no, we don't need any help, come on finn." she spat coldly.

what a bitch.

they looked around for a while. the woman, who I learned to be named iris, bickered and snapped at the curly haired man. I felt sorry for him, I assumed he was afraid to talk-back to her, as he never said anything but "okay, [insert cute pet name here]."

soon enough, "finn" walks up to the counter. "hello! I had a question, if you're not busy at all." he inquires kindly. "go ahead, it's not a very busy day as you might be able to tell." I return with a smile. "My fiancé and I getting married in a few weeks. My mother recommended your shop to get flowers from and I was wondering if you were still setting up bouquets and stuff for weddings?" he explained. "yes, we still do! the cost depends on what flowers you want, how many you want, and how long it takes to set up, but the average price is about $170 plus $40 up front."

"wow, alright. that's a really good price. My fiancé wanted to go to this really fancy flower shop a couple cities over, but I convinced her to check out your place afterward. I must say, your flowers are absolutely stunning. are you amaline?"

my lord was this man sweet.

"thank you so much, I haven't gotten a compliment about my flowers in a while. and no, I'm not amaline. amaline is my grandmother. I'm (Y/N). my grandmother passed down the business to my mother, and now it's mine." I reply with a few giggles here and there.

conversation between us lasted longer than I expected, we just clicked! I only have a couple of friends, and they're both out of town for a while, so it feels nice connecting with someone face-to-face.

~~~~~~~~~~
weeks passed, and I got to know the nearly-weds. Iris was one of the bitchiest people I've ever met, I'm not sure how she got a guy like finn. finn was the sweetest person I've ever met and we became fast friends. he even invited me to his wedding, but Iris later told me not to come.
I'm on my way now to help set up the flowers for their special day.
