y'all b 28 in this, amy is 34
(D/L) = daughter's name
(M/N) = mom's name

"mama! is the turkey ready yet?" my daughter pipped up. "not yet sweetie, sorry." I apologized with a smile, patting her head as I prepared a side. she huffed with a frown. suddenly she was launched in the air. "don't worry darling," she was being cradled, "once everyone is here we can eat." your husband assured, tapping his slender finger to the curly haired girl. she giggled. "run along now, it may be awhile before they come." with that, the girl hopped out of her father's arms and off to the living room.

"how's everything going angel?"
"finn, you know I hate that."
"what? am I not allowed to express my admiration for my life partner?"
"well that's a mouthful of words isn't it?"
finn wrapped his arms around my waist, enveloping my body in heat from behind. his lips attacked my neck with kisses.
"finn! stop! I have to keep mashing these potatoes!"
"not until you agree to let me call you pet names!"
"never you scoundrel!"
I break free from his grasp, whipping around to face him; potato masher in hand as a weapon.
"thou shalt not defeat me! mother wolfhard is queen of this realm! you are no match for me!"
"I have traveled through lands of which you have never seen! my mission will be complete!"

"god can you guys stop being nerds for one second?" questioned a familiar voice.

I peered over finn's shoulder, "amy!" I gleamed. my body instinctively pushed past finn and jumped to my older sister. "hey lil' sis." "where's austin?" I immediately asked. "well I'm fine, how are you?" she sarcastically remarked. "I told him to wait on the couch." I bolted to the other room.

"HEY LIL MAN!" I say to the 15 year old. "AUNTIE (Y/N)!" he leaped from his seat to do our secret handshake.

fist bump, up, down, bump heels, high five with both hands crossing, and finally fingerguns to each other's heads.

we both laugh hysterically.

"how's it goin chief?" I ask. "not too shabby, I know you're doing well." he responds, eyeing my stomach. "SHUT UP I HAVE'NT TOLD ANYONE ELSE BESIDES FINN!" I whisper-shout. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" "YES!"

the night went on, all the wolfhards' and the (L/N)'s arrived (accept for nick, his ass was always late for thanksgiving). every cousin, grandparent, aunt and uncle was there. I could never be happier. even though finn's family was canadian and celebrated differently than mine, they happily accommodated for us. they were such a lovely family full of absolutely wonderful people.

~~~~~~~~
"okay kiddo, I have to get back to cooking. I can't leave that to your mom for too long." "SHE'S IN CHARGE RIGHT NOW?!"
my sister has always been an awful cook. every time she tried as teenagers she would almost burn the kitchen down and we would end up getting take out.
a sharp tone rang through my ears. the smoke alarm
"(Y/N) IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!" amy's voice shrilled.
"that's my cue-STAY CALM I'LL FIX IT!"
I ran to the kitchen to deal with my relatives' unfortunate luck. my question is, how the hell did she set off a fire while making a salad?
~~~~~~

"c'mon.... let me help!" finn whined.
"no, frog-man. you incinerate microwave dinners!"
"I just wanna grill the asparagus! please!"
"finn, I swear to god-"

"you better stop annoying your wife before I make her mine."

my brain connected the dots, the voice, the inappropriate comment: nick!

"hey dude that's not funny." finn pouted.
"NICKY!" I gave him a friendly hug.
"she's all over me already! better watch your wife man." I giggle and punched him in the arm.

nick had a crush on me when finn and I first met. he always made jokes like these and it was all in good fun, he doesn't mean them in the slightest.

"so where are the kids? I got some gifts for them." nick inquired.
"in (D/L)'s room. austin's watching them."
"good, he's here, I got the guy super smash bros ultimate."
"ARE YOU KIDDING? IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET!" finn and I gasp in unison.
"I got connections." nick winked. my face scrunched in irritation.

~~~~~~~~~
"jeez (Y/N), when are we gonna eat? I'm starving." my uncle whined.
"literally a minute, just sit down damien."
I grabbed a couple sides, and finn carried the turkey to the dinner table. all but three seats were filled. low lighting flooded the room, the food seemed to sparkle.
"this looks amazing (Y/N)." my mother-in-law complimented with a gentle hand on the small of your back. "thank you mary." I beamed, she and I didn't exactly get along when we first met, so it always feels good to receive a compliment.
finn, his mother, and I took the remaining seats. I was sat next to my daughter, austin on the other side of her.
(if you have a certain tradition you do before eating, feel free to insert it here, I wouldn't want to offend anyone lol)
"let's go around and say what we're thankful for!" the small girl next to me suggested, fork in the air. "I'm thankful for..." she trailed off, finger on her chin. "my mommy and daddy!" a giant smile pushing her cheeks up.
"aww.." the table gushed.
austin was next, a sly smirk on his face "I'm thankful for (Y/N)'s cooking, it's a big break from mom's." "HEY I TRY OKAY!" austin laughs to himself.
the turn came around to nick.
"I'm thankful that (Y/N) is gonna leave finn for me."
everyone laughed, except for his mother.
"nicholas..." she glared.
"sorry ma."
next was finn.
"I'm thankful for my beautiful family." he declared, slinging an arm around my shoulders and pecked my cheek. "what about you hun?"
I contemplated what I was about to say.
should I? is it too soon?
fuck it.
"I'm thankful for... the new wolfhard finn gave me." I announce, holding my stomach gently.
my father choked on apple cider.
"FUCK YEAH IM GETTING ANOTHER GRANDBABY!" my mother shot up from her chair. "(M/N) please calm down." your brother squeaked.
"I-I'm going to be a big sister?"
"yes honey bear, you're going to be a big sister."
a smile lite up my daughter's face, the biggest one I've ever seen on her.
the night went way better than I expected. everyone was so happy and bright. I was overwhelmed with joy to be a wolfhard, nothing could top this feeling.
happy thanksgiving loves!
