14.7.17 - Last day of final year postings.
Being in medicine taught me,
How kindness can be so crucial.
If you can't be genius, at least be kind.
By being genius, people will acknowledge you, insyaAllah.
But if you are kind,
Even the groups of angels in the sky will know your name.
You'll be blessed in heaven and earth.
Today the patient whom I examined cried helplessly. She was so sad and disappointed.
For there is no cure yet for her illness.
For a 75 year old lady to cry that way, it was heartbreaking.
Not knowing what to do, I pat and rubbed her shoulders until she calmed down.
Auntie, you taught me a huge lessons,
Of how to be kind even when you are in a deep sorrow.
If you are this sad,
Why would you allow this annoying medical student to examine you?
Because you are kind, in the middle of sorrow and sadness.
May you meet Allah in your lifetime, and allow Him to heal your wound, wash away all tears biidznillah.
