"Hope Sampson?" called the assistant principal. I glanced up from my book when she called. This is the third time I've been called to the principal's office since the accident. Three days ago someone spray painted the school. I just happened to walk by when it happened and called the police.
The next day the principal, Mr. Andrews, called me in and started pressuring me to remember if I recognized anyone who was there that night. After I told him twenty times I didn't recall anyone that I knew he got frustrated and sent me outside his office, and know he is calling me in again.
I walked in and sat down comfortably in the brown lounge chairs in front of his desk.
"I'm going to ask you again Ms. Sampson," said Mr. Andrews, "did you recognize anyone from that night?" For the twenty-first time that day I replied, "No, Mr. Andrews, it was too dark to clearly see anyone, all I seen where two people about 5 or 6 foot tall spray painting the walls." Mr. Andrews sighed exhaustedly.
"May I go now?" I asked impatiently. I was tired and ready to go home.
"Yes Ms. Sampson you may leave."
As I was walking home I noticed something shiny laying on the sidewalk on the other side of the road. Of course I walked over to examine it. What I found was an empty spray paint bottle. It was the same color as the spray paint on the side of the schools walls, I looked up and in front of me was a scary blue house with broken shutters dangling off the windows, and a porch that looked like it was eaten up with termites. Assuming it was the house that belonged to the spray paint can, I cautiously walked up the termite infested steps and knocked on the door.
I knocked a couple more times, and was about to leave, when a gangly man answered the door in nothing but a pair of faded plaid boxers. "What do you want?" he asked rather grumpily.
"I just came to see if you had any children, you see a couple da..."
"I don't care what you came to see, now leave me alone an..."
"Joe? Who's at the door?" someone from inside asked.
"It's some strange girl at the door! Now leave me alone!" He replied borderline yelling.
I didn't hear anyone reply, but instead seen the most gorgeous guy walk to the door. As soon as he seen me he smirked almost mockingly.
He looked like a model. He had gorgeous dirty blond hair that swept across one eye, and mesmerizing crystal sapphire blue eyes. I couldn't help but gawk. He had to have been at least 6'3. After my mini 'ahhhhh' moment I snapped out of my amazement and asked if this was his spray can. Instantly his face dropped, he started glaring and I swear I seen steam rolling out of his ears.
He growled, "Where did you get that?"
I just stood there in total shock, how could someone so innocent looking turn into a ravage beast. "I...I...I f-f...f-fou...f-found it... outside your door...o-on...on the s-side w-walk." I stuttered terribly.
His face seemed to calm down in an 'OMG! Did I drop it?' moment. He smiled and said 'oh, I'm sorry to have snapped like that.' And with that he grabbed the can, turned on his heel, and walked away.
I stared in utter shock. Something didn't seem right with him...I just couldn't put my finger on it. I shrugged and walked off. As I walked down the street I had time to think, maybe he was the one who helped spray paint the school. I couldn't put my scrambled thoughts into a coherent sentence though, so I dropped it and continued home.
