Chapter Two

"Hey fag, wake up. You're going to miss the bus." Austin said pounding on the door. "You can stop dreaming about your boyfriend now."

"Fuck off Austin." I yelled as I tumbled out of bed. "Man I felt like I was hit by a truck." I groan as I cracked my neck. I looked around my trashed room and sighed.

I got up off the ground and grabbed the door handle to opened it, but when I went to turn it felt like putty in my hand. I looked down at the handle with a puzzling look. "What the hell." I let go and saw my door handle crushed like a pop can. My eyes widened and I looked down at my hand.

"Felix, come on, your brother and father are going to be on the morning news." My mother opened the door.

"I'll be right down."  I blinked a few time before shaking my head. "The knob was old, that's all." I walked away from the door and over to my closet. I reached up and went to grab out a blue shirt, but as soon as I pulled a little the bar came crashing down. "Holy crap!"

"Felix, honey is everything ok." My mom came into the room and gasped. "Oh my."

"Mom, I don't know what happened." I tried to defend myself.

"You know I told your dad we needed to get that thing redone." She smiled sweetly at me. "Now he can't tell me that he'll get to it later. Now get dressed and come down stairs."

                "Alright."

I grabbed a pair of pants off the ground and quickly walked out of my room and into the bathroom. "Old door knob and old bar." I looked into the mirror and shook my head. "I need to clear my head." I got dressed, brushed my teeth and hair, but made sure to hold the brushes really lightly just in case.

"Felix hurry up or you're not going to be able to eat before you go."

I walked out of the bathroom and down the hall. I walked down the stairs but when I got to the bottom, I grabbed the little ball thing on the railing like I always did but this time instead of swinging myself on it snapped off in my hand. I looked down at the snapped piece of wood in my hand with my mouth hanging wide open. "Nice going, stupid." Adam walked past me into the living room.

"Donna, get in here it's on!" My father called.

"And the news everyone's been waiting to hear. The meteor that hit Locklny just last night. The reports said that there was no evidence of the meteor coming even close to Earth, that it was a shock and professionals don't know what to say. Well when we got to the scene there are ready some locals there. And this is what they had to say."

"Well the whole house shook like..."

"Oh my god, there you are Chris." My mom leaned over the couch and kiss Dad on the head.

"...we then saw a red light flash through the windows. My son here ran to the window and notice that something was on fire so we came out here to check what it was...."

My dad turned down the TV and turned towards us. "Can you believe it that thing last night was a meteor?"

"What did it look like?" My mom asked pulling herself up from the back of the couch.

"Well it was black with what looked to be green gems all over it."

                "Green gems?"

"Yeah, they were really weird looking too." Adam added in.

"Green gem on a meteor." I thought for a moment. "Sounds like kryptonite."

Adam laughed at me. "We not talking about that stupid nerd stuff that you read, we're talking about real life."

"Adam be nice." My mom smacked him. "Felix only made a comment." She looked back at me and gasped.

I looked at her funny before realizing the was looking at my hands were the ball from the banister was still. "Um...I didn't mean to."

"See this is why I told you boys to stop pushing yourself off the banister." She plucked the ball out of my hand.

"Sorry Mom." I looked down at the ground.

She sighed at me. "Don't worry about it, now run along or you'll miss the bus."

"Alright." I walked with my head down into the kitchen and out the door to see the yellow bus pulling away from the house. "Damn it." I threw my pack on the ground and a whole bunch of dust flew up and hit me in face making me cough. "What was that?" I waved my hand around trying to get rid of the dust before picking up my backpack. My eyes widened as I revealed a hole in the driveway that was the same size as my pack.

"Hey nerd, did you miss your bus." Adam walked out of the house laughing at me. "Well isn't..." He looked down at the hole. "Digging for fossils?"

I looked down at the hole. "Give me a ride to school. I'll even get out three blocks ahead."

He glared at me. "Four blocks."

                "Fine."

He started to his truck. "Hurry up I'm not waiting for you." I hurried towards the truck and I stopped dead when I went to open the door. "Get in." I grabbed the door handle lightly and opened the door as easy as I could. "Hey wuss get in the truck or I'm going to leave."

I hopped in the truck and kicked his helmet again this time, I didn't just scuff it I put a small dent in it. I looked up and tried to ignore what I had done. I put a hole in the ground with my backpack, and I just put a dent in a football helmet. What is happing to me?
