"You like him!" Robbins nudged me as we walked down the hallway away from Bryans room. "I know that look anywhere." I felt my cheek get hot as a smile came over my face.

"He's just the first patient that wasn't dying of a brain tumor, or a pregnant with a child that I've met in awhile." I handed Bryan's chart back to Robbins. "It's nice getting to talk with kids around my age." Robbins smiled clutching the charts to her chest as we stopped by one of the rooms.

"Hey, if you want to hang out with me or Bryan even just come talk to me and I'll see what I can do." She put her hand on my shoulder as she handed me the next chart. "Jasmine Stevens, post-op from a splenectomy 2 days ago." She filled me in as she walked into the room with a smile. "How ya doing, Jasmine?" I looked to the bed seeing an 8-year old girl sitting in a bed with purple sheets over her.

"I'm doing good." She smiled when she saw Robbins. "Who's she?" She turned her attention to me.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Jasmine this is my friend Mae." Arizona gestured for me to come closer. "She's the daughter of another doctor here and she wanted to hang out with some people around her age." I smiled closing her chart and tucking it to my chest.

"Hi." I looked to her getting closer to her bed. "I'm here if you need anyone to hang out with." She smiled at me. "Just page Arizona and she'll find me." I looked to Robbins who was now examining her stitches.

"Well, Jasmine, your incision is healing up nicely so you should be out of here in a couple of days." Robbins took her gloves off and took the chart from me. "And whenever you need someone to hang out with I'll find Mae here." She smiled down at me.

"Okay, bye Dr. Robbins." Jasmine said as we walked out of the room. "Bye, Mae."

"So, are you going back in?" Meredith asked leaning against the desk.

"I don't know yet." I leaned next to her staring into Isaac's room. "I think he's right. I have to sleep on it and come back tomorrow with a fresh mind." I turned to her and noticed that she'd been staring at me. "See you tomorrow, Meredith." I gave her a small hug and walked toward my office. I have to tell Mae about us. I turned to see Meredith no longer at the desk and let out an exhale.

I walked into my office to see the couch where Mae was sleeping now empty. I looked around the room and noticed that her bag was still by the desk and her work was sitting on the desk as well and I got worried. I knew that she was able to navigate this hospital by now but I was worried that she'd get spooked by something since we had just gotten back from our little 'vacation' and I wasn't sure if she was strong enough.

I walked out of the room searching any place Mae would have gone to and was stopped when I heard her voice coming down the hall from the Pediatrics wing. She was walking with Robbins and didn't notice that I was standing there.

"Hey, baby girl." I shouted as she was coming closer to where I was standing. "Hey, Arizona." They had approached me and Mae wrapped her arms around my waist. "Where did you go?" I looked down at her seeing her blue eyes looking up at me and then over to Robbins.

'I went on rounds with Arizona and met a bunch of patients that she said I could hang out with sometimes." She seemed amazed that she had finally met someone around her age and I knew that this was going to be good for her.

"Well seems like you had a pretty good day." I gave her a smile but it quickly disappeared as my mind went back to Isaac.

"What is it?" Robbins asked seeing my face change.

"Uhh, its just that Isaac wants me to try to remove his tumor tomorrow but I have no idea if I can even do it." I hugged Mae tighter and Robbins leaned against the desk. "I stood in that OR today and couldn't decide where to start because it was more complex than I initially thought." I looked at her as she seemed to be thinking about what I should do.

"Well, if I know you I know that you will not give up until you have exhausted all possible ideas and I know you're not even close to that." She handed a chart to the nurse behind the desk and looked back at me. "I think Isaac's right and that you should go home and try again another time." She smiled walking back over to Mae and I. "I know you'll lfigure this out because your one of the best neurosurgeons, your brains a little clouded because you just came back from a tough situation." She started to walk away as I stood still holding  Mae against my chest.

"Thank you, Arizona." I gave her a smile and she walked off back toward Peds. I unraveled Mae and we walked back toward my office so I could change out of these scrubs. "Let's go home." Mae started to pack her things into her backpack and I grabbed my clothes to go change. "I'll be right back after I change." She nodded as I headed toward the lounge bathroom down the hall.

"Dad, Are you and Meredith dating?" Mae asked as we walked out of the hospital.

"What?" I turned to her stopping outside the sliding glass doors. "Why would you assume that?" She looked around before meeting my gaze at her.

"Well, it's just that you've had her on your service a lot and you let her scrub in today and she always lights up whenever you enter a room." She was right I had noticed that I had been spending a lot of time with Meredith ad I didn't realize that other people might have noticed.

"Mae, come sit." I took her hand and walked over to a bench. "The night that I went out with some of my friends I spent some time talking with Meredith at the bar and we ended up going back to her house." I looked at her making sure I hadn't lost her. "We've tried to hide what we did from most people at the hospital but hiding it from you has been the hardest, so here it goes."

"Dad, I know that you guys are involved with each other and I'm fine with it." She cut in before I could finish my thought. "You and mom didn't work out and I like Meredith and she likes me." I smiled at the thought of me getting the permission from my 10-year old daughter. "Now let's go home, I'm hungry." She stood up and started walking toward the car as I watched her walk away. I stood and started after her as she approached the car waiting for me to unlock it.

"Mae, slow down, I'm getting old here." I laughed as I clicked the unlock button and she climbed in the front seat.

"Not my fault." I saw her laugh as she closed the door and I climbed into the drivers seat next to her.
