Chapter 20

Aelia's POV

So Dad's been with this girl all this time? Mom is fucking pissed! I pray for his safety at this point and it's pretty funny, the look on Dad's face is remarkable.

"Darnell care to explain this? Please don't leave out any details either."

He clears his throat as Mom asks him this "She wanted to talk to me about something personal Pyrrha, and we lost track of time and fell asleep out here." He says terrified

Mom looks at the other girl "Is this true?"

She nods her head with a smile in her face. "Her face says otherwise Darnell, she seems to be enjoying herself right now."

Dad looks at the girl next to him with a pleading face saying stop it "What were you talking about for sooo long that you didn't go back to your dorm?

Dad looks down "We were talking about our past, our reasons of being hunters.."

Mom's face is filled with guilt now since it was about Dad's past... she looks down embarrassed for jumping to conclusions. "I-I'm sorry hon.... I didn't know..."

The girl decides to introduce herself "Well now that is out of the way" she stands up and dusts herself off "My name is Cinder Fall, I'm from Haven Academy. I was interested in what pushes Darnell here so far." She looks back at Darnell with a smile but it seems she's hiding something "And I must say.... I'm happy with his reasoning.... we have similar reasons you see. That's why we were out for so long. Well I'm going to get breakfast then take a shower, I'll see you later Darnell." She walks with a sway in her step and looks over her shoulder to look at Dad and waves as she looks forward. I got a bad feeling about her.... she has this.... controlling vibe about her.

I walk up to Dad as he seems to be in thought "You ok Darnell?"

I say his first name due to the crowd around us "Nah I'm fine, just dodged a fucking bullet that's all" we both share a chuckle, I'm glad I have more of his personality. Mom isn't as carefree as Dad but that's a good thing though, they balance each other out.

"Well I'm glad my training partner is still alive then, I need you to get stronger" I say with a laugh

He stands up and fakes a hurt face "Wow, that's all you see of me huh? That really hurts Aelia"

I try to push his shoulder but he doesn't budge "Ah stop being sensitive you big bitch" we both start laughing hard and Mom can't help but join in with us.

After that ordeal, we go to breakfast and meet up with Dad and uncle Huy's friends. Eric I believe, is currently talking about a story about their funny moments they had while they gamed together "So we were doing a raid with one of our groups and Huy wouldn't stop doing this fake laugh and Darnell over here was getting pissed!"

Dad sighs angrily "Oh my God man, this guy wouldn't shut the fuck up if his life depended on it!" He starts mimicking the laugh while uncle Huy is laughing uncontrollably "I was like Huy.... if you ever do that while we're on a road trip or something.... I don't care if it causes a crash I will bitch smack your ass."

Uncle Huy calms down a bit to speak "Damn Darnell that's pretty funny!"

He does the laugh again and everyone starts laughing but Dad "SHUT UP HUY!!!" He continues to laugh normally while everyone laughs at Dad's anger on the subject. Dad and Huy's friends are actually pretty cool.

I wanna hear more of these stories so I ask Jordan next to me for more "Hey is there any other stories when Darnell got pissed?"

He thinks a bit and he gets this fat grin on his face and start laughing "Yo Eric! Remember GTA?! Nick was pissed but Darnell didn't hold anything back at all!" He starts to cackle like a madman.
