Chapter 23

Huy's POV

When Darnell told me to kill him if he ever lost control of himself and we can't save him..... I didn't know how to feel about it honestly. Here I am telling Blake I'll watch over him... when she doesn't know that he wants me to end his misery if it gets that far.... I let go of Blake and she gets confused "What's wrong Huy?" I don't respond to her and I just look down at the ground and my hands tighten up "Huy! Look at me.... what's wrong?"

I look up at her slowly with my face with regret and scared for Darnell "Darnell told me to do something..... if we can't save him from Salem, he also told Ozpin and his inner circle as well."

She gets nervous "W-What did he tell you baby?" She holds my hands to calm me down.

My knuckles have turned white and I look back at her amber eyes "He wants me to..... he wants me to kill him Blake! He told me with sincerity to kill him if we can't save him! He doesn't want to harm anyone if he goes under! He trusts me completely and wants me to kill him!!"

Horror is writtened all over her face and she grips my hands tighter "W-W-Well what are you going to d-do?!" I think hard and can't come up with anything at all "I know what you're going to do! You're going to do everything in your power and you will not let that happen to him! You two have been through thick and thin! You two have families and we all count on each other!"

I take her words into consideration "You think I can Blake? So much shit is going on and going to happen that I don't know what to think anymore... If I did kill him... I couldn't look at Pyrrha or Aelia.... I would see their faces and see Darnell's death over again and feel guilty for taking him away from them..."

"You won't have to, you will protect him and he will protect you. Everyone knows that Huy! You two always have each other's back! You guys barely even communicate when you're fighting and it confuses everyone!"

I think back to the times when we sparred with others and we didn't say a word to each other besides a few jokes here and there. I laugh at the good times we've had so far and lighten up a little.

Blake feels the same and let's out a chuckle "See!? You guys are so.... in sync when you fight and are amazing! You have nothing to worry about Huy, so let's enjoy the calm times we have now ok?"

"You're right Blake, let's go to the fairgrounds and grab a bite to eat then! I'm starving!"

She scoffs at me "You're always hungry Huy! I don't know how you have this muscle with your appetite!"

I click my tongue in annoyance "There's nothing wrong with the way I eat Blake, Julia is the same way and look at her! She's perfectly fine just like me." I say in arrogant tone just to mess with her.

"Ughh, wish she didn't get that from you! She hates it when I point it out to her."

"Wanna know why she hates it? Because there's nothing wrong, that's why." I laugh at my own joke and she just sighs in annoyance.

"Let's just go to the fairgrounds, I'm a little hungry anyways."

Pyrrha's POV

Me and Darnell finally got some time for ourselves for a bit "Are you sure you want to eat before a potential fight? Aren't you afraid of a stomach ache or something?" Darnell asks me since I'm in the solo rounds now.

"Yes I'm fine Darnell, I've done it before and I won't eat much. Unlike you and Aelia, I wonder where all that food goes when she eats as much as you!"

He laughs a bit "She shits it out obviously!"

He laughs hysterically "You're so gross! That comment was unnecessary and unsanitary!"
