Her tight heels bit into her tender feet. A quiet sigh escaped her lips. Her spouse had gone weeks before to the palace. The servant's silent steps echoed in her ears. They never spoke out of turn, they hardly even looked her in the eye. She detested this place, his manor.

The new Lady of the house inspired. Her presence was daunting, her mouth had been sealed shut. The absence of her husband added on to the effect. It gave great relief to the staff, her eyes were a lovely shade of honey. But as hollow and light draining as a dying star.

"Lady Skadi, uh you have a visitor." A maid announced, her hands and legs were trembling. The girl's eyes were glued to her feet.

The female's eyes steadily danced to the young female. Her lips were lightly stained with glossy lip gloss but remained in a tight line. She stood from her plush royal blue, velvet chaise. "Who is our visitor?" She inquired softly, but there was no true softness. Her tone was cold and hard, she had grown weary of the beauty of Asgard. She yearned for her homeland.

"Um, he told me to let it remain a surprise." She cowered slightly, as the woman approached her slowly.

She hummed numbly in response. Skadi waved off the fearful girl, she scrambled away. She faintly recalled her name. Hilde was it.

The young maiden had fair flaxen hair and wide dark brown eyes. She was incredibly thin, barely any meat on her bones. She was timid and constantly on edge. Skadi failed to notice that she was only jittery around her. The nervousness stemming from her race. Hilde happened to be a rather sweet, endearing individual. Everyone loved her, but her personality dulled in the appearance of the Jotun woman, who was now her Lord's wife.

Skadi knew not of the man visiting. It couldn't be her husband as his appearance would be welcomed openly with cheery voices and the house becoming boisterous and nerve-rackingly loud.

Her fingers twitched, a keen blade forming in her almond hand. Her left hand stayed free, as she advanced towards the main room. A small body banged into her stomach. The person fell to the ground, they made an elfin groan. She gazed downward. The boy had lustrous black hair and narrow glistening sea, blue orbs.

He pushed himself up. He stood his ground surprisingly. The child scowled questionably. He was thin, abnormally so. Almost as if he was sickly.

"You, your my father's second wife!" His voice was high-pitched and outraged. She wished to laugh, Njörd had not informed her of his...children. She would have to discuss this with him because frankly, she had no knowledge of their existence. Skadi didn't keep up with Asgardians affairs.

Her head tilted slightly."What is your name?" She questioned ignoring his proclamation.

He clenched his fists. "Why should I tell you?!" He shouted, averting his eyes from her hollow ones.
