Chapter 5: mother nature isn't predictable

Later that night, Sakura returned to the training ground.  first she trained in chakra control,  although she has all her skills...she dosen't have her chakra reserves.  Then she went to the river and caught a fish, to practice her healing on, like a long long time ago.  she still had all her skills, knowledge and power..but her body could only do a tiny fraction of it all.

"Sakura?"

She could sense him..he was always there..watching her..

"Kakashi-sensei." 
"what are you doing?"

"Training." Sakura replied,  releasing the fish back into the water.  "why are you watching me.." 

"you knew?"

"a ninja always has to be aware of their surroundings " Sakura replied, turning  to face Kakashi.  "but why?"

"something's been..off about you."

"oh?"

Kakashi took a few steps foreward " compared to your files your more skilled and smart..and the day of introductions..you made a slip up.. miss. Sakura uch-Haruno." 

Sakura sighed.  "alright..you caught me.." 

Kakashi raised an eyebrow, wondering what he caught.

"i was day dreaming about Sasuke. "Sakura blushed " and i wondered how my name would sound if it was Sakura Uchiha..and i made a slip up.." 

Kakashi laughed "is that all? you made it seem like something else."

if only you knew...Sakura mused  i'm just glad he believes me because i'm 12 years old.

"what about being stronger then your files?"

"I realized that being a ninja is no joke, so i started training..i just haven't updated my files yet."Sakura replied.

"you should do that then.." Kakashi remarked turning to leave.

"sensei.." Sakura started

"hm?"

"i know this is a weird question..but if you had the chance to go back in time..what would you do?"  Sakura mused

"well." Kakashi scratched his head " i would think about it.."

"huh?"

"well..i would figure out events that were really bad, and decided the impact on the future, if they were a big impact..i wouldn't stop it..if it was a small impact i would..ya see?" Kakashi turned to look at Sakura and saw the thoughtful look on her face.

but..there are so many things i want to change..but..what Kakashi says is true, the bigger events made my future the way it is..maybe he's right and i should just...stay out of things..let fate take it's course..

Sakura nodded "thanks Sensei  you've answered my question." 

And so..Sakura did,  she let fate take it's course and just followed along with what she remembered,  doing D-rank missions until the day came, where Naruto demanded something better...

Tazuna..the old bridge builder.

it's time now..to meet Zabuza Momochi...i wonder how we will fare this time.. Sakura mused,  waiting at the gates for her team, with the bridge builder drinking his sake contently.  Something caught Sakura's eye...clouds..thunder clouds. In the distance, they were so dark..it was like looking up at the night sky on a cloudy night..

a storm?  i know mother nature isn't predictable..but i don't remember rain..  Sakura thought to herself.  And i didn't pack a jacket..it's too late to return home to grab one too..

"ready?"

Sakura looked at Sasuke and Naruto,who had just arrived.

"do you guys see that?"  she pointed at the sky.

"whoa!" Naruto exclaimed "when did it get so cloudy?"

"did anyone pack a jacket?" Sakura joked.

"i did." Sasuke remarked

"i did.." Naruto copied Sasuke with a nasty tone.

Sakura rolled her eyes "i was just wondering...cause it looks like a nasty storm is brewing.."

"hm.." 

other then the weather, everything went exactily as Sakura remembered,  the mist genin attacked, and then Zabuza..Kakashi passed out and they ended up at Tazuna's place.  Then came the training part, where like before Sakura finished the first try and gave Naruto some tips, before she went to do her own training.

Sakura gathered as much chakra as she could, untl she felt like she was going to burst,  then released it all at once,  trying to expand on her resources.

Sasuke and Kakashi could feel her chakra expand, and was curious to know why she was training that way.

"Sakura." Kakashi remarked "you'll exhaust yourself doing that."

Sakura knew that..she knew she would tire quickly, but she had to try..she couldn't wait 23 years until she was back to full strength,she had to start now..start making her body return to it's full power.

Day's passed, and Sakura knew it was time..today was the day Zabuza would return.. and Sakura had to make a choice..would they live..or die? Would they be used as warriors with the reanimation jutsu...Sakura didn't know.

But..Something was off..very off..  While Sasuke, Naruto and Haku fought in Haku's Crystal Ice Mirror prison,  Zabuza and Kakashi were also fighting. So..what was it that was making Sakura so on edge?

Sakura closed her eyes and shook her head, trying to figure out this uneasy feeling..was the past changing in ways Sakura wouldn't expect? Did Zabuza have another team member waiting?

Sakura remembered,  and when she turned around, Kakashi was already there,  Zabuza bringing his sword down onto them.  Sakura also remembered her scream gave Naruto and Sasuke the will to fight harder and helped Sasuke unlock his Sharingan, so she let out one of her best screams.

Sakura knelt down by Sasuke and started to pull the needles from his body, her Medical knowledge taking over.  

No major arteries were hit..but it still must have been  extremely painful.. 

clank..clank...clank

a nice pile was sitting next to Sakura's knee as she pulled the needles from his body.

"S-Sakura?"

"be quiet Sasuke, you need keep your energy for the healing process.." Although Sakura was trying to be professional..she couldn't help the relieved smile "i'm glad your okay.."

"Naruto..is.."

"Naruto's fine Sasuke, other then the little temper tantrum he threw when you passed out.."  Sakura tried to reassure him

of course she wasn't going to tell him Naruto was the Nine Tails Container..or the fact that Naruto almost lost it and let some of the Nine Tails chakra take over.

"Haku?"

"dead"

Sakura called out to Naruto and he was happy to see Sasuke was alive.  Then, it began to snow...mother nature isn't predictable at all...hehe
