"And then i think i dropped off of my skateboard." He blushed as he hid behind the large slice of pizza as i was cracking up, "no way-" i was interrupted by the chime of a bell, Ethan ran in, he looked around in a panic until his eyes met mine, "Elise." He began "i think i should wait outside." Grayson grabbed the box patted my shoulder and walked outside, Ethan sat beside me.

"I'm sorry," he couldn't  even bring himself to look at me, was i that disgusting? "Save it for someone who cares." I stood up to leave but he grabbed my wrist pulling me back down, "what the hell does it matter to you? We're not even in a relationship," he yelled, everyone's head turned. "Are you hearing yourself right now? have some decency for yourself. Yes, we weren't in a relationship but does that mean you shouldn't consider that the other person could potentially have feelings for you?!" He sighed and rested his forehead on his palm.
"I guess not, considering you only care about yourself." I peeled my wrist from his grip and slammed a twenty-dollar bill on the table, "fuck you." I said as i turned and walked out taking shaky breaths, "Hey, is everything all right?" I jumped as he retested his  hand on my shoulder "yeah, now it is." i mumbled as i walked passed him and he followed, staying hot on my trail.

"he misses you, you know." he said as he walked beside me, his hands tucked into his front pocket, strands of his hair falling in front of his forehead, "he didn't mean it-" "leave me alone, Grayson what the hell?" i came to a stop, i turned to face him and glared.

"i'm leaving." i said as i called a taxi slammed the door and the car drove off, grayson hung his head as he watched the engine roar with life as disappear into the busy streets of new york.

I flipped through the magazine slowly, my eyes trailing over every inch of her body that was erased of imperfection, I glared at ethan, the way he posed behind me pissed her off, the way he looked straight at me through the magazine made her heart beat faster, "am i really overreacting?" I mumbled as I brushed her finger tips over the muscles he was flexing, I tore the image in half as tears brushed against my cheek, "why me?" I croaked, finally, everything was going good fro once. I had the job I always dreamed of, I had met the man who I thought was the one but nothing can ever goes great in my world, does it?

my phone buzzed again and I pulled the sleeve of my sweater to wipe my tears.

Mom Facetime....

"Shit." I cursed through my teeth as I quickly answered and plastered a smile on my face, "hey, honey." her mom beamed from the other end as she reflected her daughters smile.

"hey, mom," i spoke as i tried to not make my voice waver, i rubbed my eyes violently and my moms smile slowly faded, "what's wrong?" she asked and i shook my head as i rested my head on my palm, i didn't dare speak.

"so we're keeping secrets now? is that it?" she set her phone down and she crossed her arms to let her daughter know she meant serious business.

"mom," she trailed but her mom gave her a stern look, "elise," she warned, "i don't want to talk about it, okay?" I stated more than asked and her mom gave a long sigh.

"that doesn't mean i wont forget it," she said and i rolled my eyes, "let me see the new pictures." she squealed as she clasped her hands together startling me as I looked around the room until my eyes landed on what once was a picture of me and ethan.

"oh, um," i paused as i looked around searching my brain for an excuse that would ease my anxiety, "oh yeah." i palmed my brain, "we haven't gotten any copies yet, i'll mail you some when i get them, though,"  i said and she paused before she sadly nodded.

"listen, mom, you caught me at a really bad time." i said and she frowned, "i really have to go," she nodded, "bye, elise." she smiled as i bid my goodbyes and ended the call.

"what have you done, Ethan?" i whispered as i rested my chin on my knees and hid my face in my hands.
