Beth POV

I woke up to a tap on the shoulder. "Come on," Gabbie announced, "it's time to go." I stood up and said, "Let me wear something else first." I put on my old Percy Jackson Camp Half-Blood t-shirt on with my XXXL hoodie over it, so I wouldn't have to roll up the sleeves at the doctor's.
We got in the car, and she started driving. "So, what's the deal with the cord necklace?" Gabbie asked. "Each thing represents a member of my family," I explained, "the shell's my brother, the plastic ring is my dad, and the rusting heart ring is my mom." She nodded as if she understood. No one will understand.

"So what seems to be the problem?" the doctor asked. I took off my hoodie to reveal my cuts. His eyes widened. "What caused them?" he asked. "A girl at the orphanage cut me with a pocket knife," I explained as his eyes widened even more.
He examined them, gave me some sort of salve to put on my cuts, and sent me home. When we got home, I opened the door to the entire Vlog Squad. "Surprise!" they all shouted. None of them had cameras, so it was ok. My mouth opened wide and I said, "They're all here. All of them."
Liza and David both walked over to me and said, "Sorry about last night. We got you veggie pizza this time!" "Thanks," I said. My stomach grumbled. I hadn't eaten breakfast! "I'm hungry!" I declared, "let's have pizza!" Everybody cheered.
"I'm a pretty weird kid," I announced, "I've liked veggie pizza since the age of 6, I like to follow the rules, and I've never really fit in to any group at school. Even the weirdos." "Why?" Kristen asked. "I'm too childish to be with the emos, I'm too depressing to be with the kids at heart, I look too much like I fit in, and I don't fit anywhere."
My phone started to ring, and I noticed the contact. Lana. She's one of my best friends from back home! I answered it, and she started shouting, "YOU BETTER NOT BE FROM THE FBI!! OH, YOU BETTER TELL ME WHERE MY FRIEND IS, OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!" Every single member of the Vlog Squad's eyes widened. They could hear her screaming.
"Lana?" I said softly. "OH MY GOD!" she screamed, "IS THAT YOU? YOU BETTER NOT HAVE JUST WAITED TO PICK UP YOUR PHONE UNTIL NOW!" I started laughing. "Lana, it's ok," I said, "I bet you saw that my family was murdered on the news." "OH MY GOD THAT WAS YOUR FAMILY?" she shouted. "Yeah was that was my family," I responded, "and stop yelling. You're bothering everyone around me." "Ok sorry," Lana said, " I was just a little worried." "A little worried?" I said, laughing.
Everyone around me relaxed, and I told Lana my story. Everyone was silent, even her. "Woah," Lana said, "are you ok?" "If hanging out with the Vlog Squad counts as ok, then yeah," I said, "I'm ok." "Wait, WHAT?!" she shouted, "you're a big fat liar." I gestured for Gabbie to come over here. "I'm totally not," I said, "in fact, I'm gonna prove it right now." I hand Gabbie the phone and she said, "Hi, you're Beth's friend Lana, right?" The phone was dead silent until Lana said, "I'm speechless."
Gabbie handed the phone back to me, and I told her my adoption story. Then I decided I was hungry, and I hung up to eat.

Gabbie POV

We hung out for the rest of the day. When everyone left at 8:00pm, we watched Blindspot and made it all the way to Season 2 Episode 4: If Beth. Then we both went to bed. Watching TV with Beth was fun, especially when the episode title has her name in it. I love having a daughter. She's like a young best friend, that you're the boss of.
