I pulled at the chain uselessly. Sitting down on the ground nervously, I tried to recall what happened before.
I was kidnapped... They had weapons.... They.... were going to kill me?
But... before they could they got knocked back by... something... What was it?
I was so engrossed in my own thoughts. I didn't notice the footsteps of a person until the click of the door opening echoed throughout the cell.
I immediately looked up; my heart pounded through my chest.
"Oh~? You're awake usagi [rabbit]-chan?"
This voice...
"You're... the person who was at the hall..."
"Mhm~ Nice memory there~"
The person took off his mask. He was a male with red brown hair and venomous green eyes.
My senses immediately skyrocketed.
A snake...?!
"Are you a part of the snake clan?" I asked him cautiously.
"Snake clan...?" He thought about it slowly.
"Oh~ Clams. Right. Forgot about that term~" He laughed.
"What's so funny...?"
"Sorry, sorry. That stupid war is still going on huh?"
What... does he not know...?
"But no. I'm not a snake." He smiled and bent down. "I'm a sparrow."
"Sparrow...?"
"Yup. My name is Mitsuhara Subaru."
"...Aren't you exploiting too much of yourself...?"
"Well, I guess huh~ But it's okay just don't forget, if you tell the wrong people... Who know's what would happen to you."
I shivered.
This man... is dangerous...
"Well, usagi-chan~ Let's go?" He uncuffed my hands and smiled.
"Go..... go where...."
He smiled. "Well, since you escaped death; obviously, you need to fit into our lifestyle right?"
.......................................................................................................
Mitsuhara showed me around the underground tunnels and explained how there were traps and such. My hands and feet were completely free; I could run wherever I chose to, but I had a feeling if I did, I would die.
We got to a huge door where two masked people stood guard.
Mitsuharu raised his hand and waved at them, like a nice gesture. The guards didn't budge an inch, but the door opened and we walked through; I felt their gazes piercing through my very being as we did so.
I shivered. I'm not welcome here...
But going across the door's threshold, all my anxiety washed away.
We were standing on a cliff and below, laid a large thick forest with a sparkling lake.
There were large holes above us, letting light through.
"Amazing..." I breathed.
"Right?" Mitsuhara said. "Well, let's go usagi-chan~"
"Go...? Go where?!" I looked around for any stairs or walkways.
