“Is she okay?” I asked our doctor.

The doctor, Kaname, turned around and smiled. “She’ll be fine. She just needs some rest.”

I sighed and took my mask off. “Seriously, she’s such a pain.”

Kaname giggled a bit, putting medicine into her bag. “How unusual for you to complain about something Ryuu.”

I stiffened up a bit. “She’s different from the other prisoners.”

“Because she opened the door?”

“No…” I sighed. “Don’t tell anyone about this, okay?”

“Sure, when have I ever spilled your secrets?” She smiled.

“Well…. Ever since I met her… I’ve been having this strange, reoccurring dream.”

“Eh?”

“Yeah…”

“What is it about?” She looked at me with a serious gaze.

“It’s always about this guy… He has blond hair and blue eyes.”

Kaname nodded.

“And he’s always mouthing something like, ‘I’m sorry.’ ”

Kaname took a moment think, and then asked, “Which clan?”

“I don’t know…”

“Well… Dreams are usually a bad sign, especially in this kind of spiritual place…”

“Yeah. I know.”

“Just don’t think too much about it. All you can do now is wait and see what happens.”

I nodded.

“Then… I should go.” I said.

Kaname smiled. “Okay.”

I walked out of the small cottage and let out a troubled sigh.

……………………………………………………………………………

I woke up in the room filled with writings.

Huh…? I’m still here?

The only difference was that the room was less worn out, and there was nothing engraved on the floor. The room was also bathed in a strange sea blue light.

W-what…?

A girl with long, wavy, brown hair and blue eyes stomped in the room. I gasped and looked around for a place to hide, but there was no such place.

Wait… She looks like… me…?

But she didn’t seem to see me.

Huh….?

She was glaring at the picture on the other side of the wall.

“Eveline!”

The girl turned around.

“What are you planning to do to the sacred painting?!” The voice belonged to a man in his 40’s. He had blond hair and sharp blue eyes. He wore a long red cape and held a staff,  which showed that he held some sort of power.

“Nothing…”

“You had ill intent!!”

“Well I didn’t do anything okay?!”

“Yet.”

Eveline gritted her teeth and clenched her fist.

The scene began to fade into darkness. But before it completely faded, the girl glared in my direction.

I slowly opened my eyes and lifted myself up from where I lay.

What was with that dream…

“Oh, you’re awake?” A girl with white hair and red eyes smiled at me. “Are you feeling any sort of dizziness or nausea?”

I shook my head.

“Okay… That’s good.” She smiled. “My name is Kaname. I’m the doctor here.”

“Ester…” I introduced myself, even though she probably already knew who I was.

“…Are you all right?”

“Eh? Uh… I’m fine!” I put on a fake smile.

“Hm… okay…”

“…”

Silence enveloped the room. I didn’t know what to say, she was a stranger to me after all.

“Um..” She started to say, but she was interrupted by the creak of the door.

The door opened and a masked guard came in.

“Oh, Yuuto, you brought the ingredients?” Kaname turned around to face the masked person.

He nodded and handed a box to Kaname.

“Okay, thank you!”

He nodded again and left the room.

Kaname set the box on a nearby table.

“Well, shall we take a look round the village, Ester?” She asked, smiling.
