~As you can see behind us the national guard have arrived and are already putting up everything.~

They're already here! They weren't supposed to come until tomorrow. Our town is being bordered in and the are police everywhere. It's even required that they be at the schools and that we have daily lockdowns. Things are moving fast and Mac has said they were experimenting in one of the towns since the borders are up.

I put my headphones on while walking to school. It's always calm before the storm.

I headed over to my friends when I got to school

"Hey guys," I said walking toward them

"Hey Annabeth," they say

"So how have you been?" Becca asked

"Relaxed but stressed"

"It's the police isn't it?" Nat asked I nodded "I thought they would come tomorrow but no" a deep sadness came over me

"Oh Anna, please don't be sad. All this will turn out alright," they said trying to comfort me

"Thanks but it's something else" I feel bad, I haven't been honest with them since this has started "I'll be fine," I said the bell rang making us groan before splitting heading to our classes.

I tried to focus but I couldn't. While in second period I noticed something far away outside then the intercom came on

"Attention, this is a lockdown. Stop teaching and go to your safe place"

When I looked back outside there was a person running toward the school with the police shooting and tackling it. I walked over to where we were supposed to be and sat down. As I replayed what I saw, I knew the thing wasn't human

'Shit! It's started' I thought hastily I texted my parents telling them I'll be there soon. Soon after the lockdown was over but the teachers had to leave their blinds down on the windows. 'They killed it' I thought as school went back to normal after that.

When I got home I started making everyone's letter explaining everything. I also talked to Mac some more and told her what happened. She said it must have been one of the subjects that slipped out before telling me about the experiment. That night I went to sleep with everything locked and a gun beside me while gripping a knife. Nightmares and fear plagued my thoughts that night.
