blood, the smell of rotten flesh and morning coffee. those were the smells i was the most familiar with.
my name is jeon jungkook, i'm 21 years old and my job is being a hitman for the government and i live alone in my apartment in seoul. i was 9 when my family was killed by an unknown group of people. from then, i didn't have emotions anymore.
i lived with my grandparents but i ran away, i didn't want to be a scrawny boy anymore. i had a massive urge for revenge.
i actually started training by myself, but i decided to join the academy,  i couldn't do much alone. i didn't have any friends until then. that's when i met jimin, a senior at the academy. he noticed me struggling to remain in the academy, but due to my bony and thin body, i couldn't do it. jimin was the complete opposite of me. he was well built, he could endure so much, i couldn't even run 3 miles.
everyone was really ahead of me, i tried so hard to make a progress, and the only person who pushed me ahead was jimin.
''c'mon jungkook, you can do it!'' yelled jimin while running in front of me.
i was on my knees, gasping for air, my sweaty hair covered the most of my eyes so my vision was blurry.
'' i.. can't... continue'' i barely managed to say.
''oh c'mon kookie you need to get up, everyone has already left'' said jimin and tried to help me get up.
''CADET JEON'' i heard someone yell in such a deep and scary voice that made me jump and made a shiver go down my spine.
'' y-yes sir'' i responded in a creaky voice.
the officer approached me and death glared me. i always concealed my emotions, but my exhausted and weak knees gave me away. we just stood there, rain started pouring lightly. i told myself he wouldn't do anything to me, but i still couldn't balance my knees.
''sir, he can finish the training session-'' jimin began talking, but the officer moved his eyes to meet jimin's, so he kept quiet.
''the commander wants to see you jeon'' he said in   a creepy tone and turned his back and left.
'' go ahead, i'll continue the training'' said jimin and left.
i stood there for a brief moment to catch my breath. i was actually a bit anxious, but i was ready to face him, i was ready to be expelled.
i didn't bother to hurry, i let the rain touch my pale skin, i was mad at myself for not being at least a descent cadet.
it was already night time, i watched the others going back from our training, which i never could finish like the rest. i was so caught up in my own thoughts that i didn't even realise i entered the hq of the academy.
i slowly walked towards big black door where was the commander's office. i knocked 2 times and i could hear a raspy voice saying '' come in jeon''.
i entered, not wanting to make eye contact and stood in front of his desk.
he was looking at some files and didn't even look at me.
i was way too anxious right now and i annoyingly asked him:
''why did you want to see me, sir?''
he kept looking at messy papers through his glasses and said :
'' well aren't you impatient jeon'' and then he finally turned his head to look at me.
''i have noticed that you're not doing so well at the academy, am i right? ''
i just kept looking at my feet.
'' it's actually more like you're not good at anything '' he said, being amused of making me feel so miserable.
'' well, except one thing'' he said and stood up. i finally looked at him.
''you're smart jeon, really smart. i think your intelligence is the only thing that keeps you here. that, and your amazing shooting skills. but just shooting won't make you a detective. '' he said and i just nodded.
'' but.. recently we had a request from the government itself. they need a skilled shooter to work for them. ''
i looked at him and he seemed proud, he had a smirk on his face and his arms crossed.
'' what job are we talking about sir? '' i asked.
''you're going to be a hitman jeon.''
