Aaron stood on the small black platform before the others. He gripped the white paper in his pale hands, nervous for them. He began calling out their names in a proud, strong, yet nervous voice.
"Sam." He said, keeping his gaze down on his paper. A light familiar voice came from the line of people, "Here." It was, of course, Sam, as Aaron had called. Sam pushed his blonde hair away from his eye, keeping his gaze on the light green grass.
Aaron nodded. "Colby." A voice came from the line again. "Present." It was Colby, as suspected. Aaron continued down the line of names, each person establishing their presence with a small word, "Here" or "Present."
"Corey... Elton.. Heath.. Brennen...... Devyn.. Amanda... Kat." Aaron finished. Each person was there, staring at the green grass at their feet. Aaron smirked, the wind beginning to blow lightly against each person's back.
Aaron began to walk slowly on his platform. "We call this the Purge. This year, 2018, is our first year of doing this. The rules are as follows."
Everyone looked up at Aaron, their hands behind their backs.
"You will pull a name out of a hat. Each person will get somebody, yet you aren't allowed to tell anyone who you got. Once each week, you will prank said person. If you wish to stop being pranked, drop out. All you have to do is forfeit."
The team nodded.
"Each night everyone will meet here at base. 10:00 PM,exactly. Here we will give announcements; drop outs, more rules, e.t.c... Any questions?"
Colby raised his hand. Aaron nodded at him. Colby responded, "What if our victim drops out?" Aaron thought it over for a moment, before saying clearly, "You pick another person from the hat. Some people will have two or more people pranking them."
The team flinched at this news.
"Go."
