"Baby wake up you got work today, get up for Jerry Beary!", a deep and familiar voice said to me.
"No, I don't wanna get up..." I said in a groggy voice, before throwing a tiny stuffed animal I won at the peer a few weeks ago at the direction I heard his voice from.
I heard a light thud showing I hit my target and I quietly celebrated to myself, but before I could even react I was suddenly showered in a bunch of kisses. I let out a grunt and opened my eyes to glare at my boyfriend who was looking at me with a smug look.
"Do I have to go to work? Can't I just stay in bed all day and cuddle with you" I said while gently rubbing our faces together in a calming matter trying to 'butter him up' and let me sleep in but unfortunately it didn't work.
He gently lifted me out of the bed bridal style and carried me down to the kitchen where he proceeded to start making a simple breakfast and coffee for me, that entire time I tried to blink the tiredness out of my eye and slowly came to my senses.
By the time I was fully awake he had just made me a couple of pieces of toast, some bacon strips, and some eggs and coffee. He had to leave because he was already late to work, and if he didn't leave now he would have been fired as soon as he stepped foot inside his workplace, so I had to unfortunately eat alone. In about thirty minutes I was done with the breakfast and started to put on my uniform for the day.
I opened the door and slowly breathed in, allowing the air to completely fill up my lungs before breathing out and feeling the air pass through my body. I always liked the mornings the most, because everyone is barely awake and the streets are somewhat quiet, or what ever is considered quiet in London.
I walked the few short blocks that separate my house and work and noticed it's less crowded as usual but push it to the back of my mind as I head into the building to get my usual coffee and donut, trash ain't gonna be disposed by itself! The sky was just starting to turn a mixture of red orange and yellow with little bits of blue and purple sprinkled across as the sun slowly began to rise from the east, the birds began to start chirping as school busses and cars take kids to school. I quietly chuckled to myself at the memory of the first time me and Young J met.
It was a cliche love story type meeting with me being the nerd who bumps into the school jock in the hallway and long story short we both fell in love but had to keep it a secret due to Young J's parents being unfortunately homophobic, Young J never told them until last year on Christmas when he accidentally let out that he was bisexual and I was his boyfriend at the dinner table. His parents were not very happy when they first found that out, but gradually they came to (somewhat) understand and accept both of us. His siblings immediately were accepting including his younger sister who wanted me to be her GBF (Gay Best Friend) and was very physically and vocally expressive of it.
I enter the building trying to avoid my colleagues but just as I touched one of the donuts...
"I see that the homo decided to go to work today! You gonna try and hit on us today." One of my co-workers said to me while flashing his usual cocky smirk.
"You gonna try and respect peoples preferences and stop acting like being gay or any other sexuality other than straight is wrong? OR are you just gonna stay your little ignorant bubble while the rest of the world continues on without you?" I respond back before giving him a smirk which he then proceeds to scuff before walking out the door. I celebrate my little victory before plopping one of the donuts into my mouth and grabbing a cup for the coffee.
