Nalu: It effects everyone

Chapter 1. The cutting

No one knows me. They all think I'm so happy and the long sleeves I wear are a clothing choice. I'm tired of being so weak in the guild. I grab the razor and tell myself this will be the last time I ever do it, it's not though. Finally when my arms are dripping from blood I start to cry. No ones knows I'm here. I'm still crying when Natsu comes in through the window. I don't hear him right away but he wraps his arms around me.

"Luce, it's okay I'm here now. Let's get these cuts wrapped up." He wasn't disgusted in me. I know he knows what this is and what it means. He picks me up to take me in my bathroom. I don't flinch when he touches me, he won't hurt me.

"I'm sorry." I can't stop crying and I really look awful.

"Don't be. Your still beautiful. I love you luce. I swear I'll be here for you all the time." I lean into his chest and keep crying. I fall asleep after a while. When I wake up Natsu is sleeping on the floor next to my bed. I sit up and look at my wrists. There wrapped up to they stopped bleeding. I grab a blanket and climb next to Natsu. He's so warm. I fall asleep again almost instantly. When we both get up we go to the guild to grab a job, but Natsu holds my hand the entire time.

"Do you want to go on a job alone? Happy will be alright alone for a few days."

"Yeah, that sounds great." He squeezes my hand before letting go. Natsu flings the door open and everyone cheers for him like usual. I go to the counter where Mira is wiping a glass.

"Hey Lucy, do you want anything to drink?" She smiles at me as kindly as she can. I smile back but it feels too forced.

"May I have water please?"

"Of course." When she hands me the water I take it and go to the board of job. I see one that's in a small village for taking down a monster. I look over and see Natsu fighting with Gray like usual. I smile and walk over. Once Natsu sees me he and Gray stop fighting.

"Did you find us a job Luce?"

"Yeah, does this sound okay with you?" I hand him the flier while he looks over everything.

"This looks perfect. I can tell Mira were going while you go get a bag packed. I'll stop by your place before we leave. We should get there tonight."

"Alright. Sounds like a great plan." I turn to leave but before I go Natsu wraps me in a hug.

"I'll be there as soon as I can get out of here." I smile against his chest and nod my head. I know he's worried about me, and after last night I understand why. I leave the guild after he lets go of me and head straight home. I hug my arms around my chest as I walk. I see so many people stare at me as I walk. They whispered to the people their standing next too. I just walk faster and watch the sidewalk. Tears threaten to spill out of my eyes and I just try and blink them away. Don't pay attention to where I'm walking and trip over an uneven sidewalk, I feel a hand on my back. I turn and see it was a little old lady.

"Here dear, let me help you up." I accept her offer and brush the dirt off of my knees.

"Thank you."

"Of course. I've almost tripped here so many times myself. My, you're looking quite skinny, would you like something to eat?" I look behind her and see a little fruit stand. I pass her everyday.

"That would be great. How much?"

"Oh no price for you dear. I've seen you pass here so many times, you just seem to get skinnier." That's because I have no appetite lately. She hands me an apple which I take gratefully. She grabs one for herself and we sit and eat together.

"I think I should get going. Thanks you very much." The lady pulls me into a hug before letting me go. I start walking again, but I feel a little better. No one has shown me such so much love. She reminded me of my mother before she died. I get to my apartment and just head in. Natsu still hasn't gotten here. I take my bag and put clothes in it, but not my razor. Natsu comes shortly after I finish packing.

"Hey Luce, are you ready to go?"

"Yeah. What took you so long?"

"Master wanted to talk to me about where we're going, this monster is going to be hard to take down, but we can do this."

"Alright, should we go then?"

"Yeah. Are you alright to take the train?"

"I guess." He looks like he's going to get sick soon.

"We can walk, I'm okay with that."

"No, it will take too long. We can walk back though." Natsu takes my hand and we walk to the station. I get the tickets then get on the train. As soon as the train moves Natsu starts to get sick. He lays his head in my lap and falls asleep almost right after. I never thought he cared this much about me. I thought he would be more disgusted in me than he was. I want to stop, for him. I promise myself I will. I want to be with Natsu and this way I won't hurt him. I end up falling asleep and wake up to the conductor telling us we got to the destination. I shake Natsu awake where he gets up and runs off the train. I grab our bags and meet him out.

"Let's go meet the mayor, he sent out the flier. We can go to dinner after."

"Alright, sounds like a great plan." I walk in front of Natsu to what will be the Mayors manor. A butler opens the door for us.

"Hello, were here with the fairy tail guild. Can we speak with your mayor?"

"Yes of course. Let me go and get him. Please come in. He asked me to let you guys stay here for your trip. The hotels are really not very nice and quite overpriced. Is that okay with you?" I look to Natsu and he shakes his head in approval.

"Yeah that will be wonderful. Thank you very much."

"Great. I'll show you both to your rooms and the mayor will meet you for dinner. He has clothes for you both to change into for the meal." We nod our heads in gratitude. He shows me to a large room with light pink accents to the white clean room. He leaves to show Natsu his room while I look around. There is a bathroom connected to the room. On the bed is a short light pink dress with a low open v-neck and off the shoulder sleeves. I shower and put a bit of makeup on. I put the dress on when I hear a knock on the door. Natsu opens it with a black suit and a dark gray shirt on.

"Wow, Luce, you look beautiful."

"Thank you. You look great too." Natsu comes in and closes my door, he puts his hand on my back and leads to to sit down on the window seat. I swear this room has everything.

"I've been waiting for so long to talk to you, Luce I think that everything about you is so perfect and I've just been falling in love with you. I've heard some of the guild say you feel the same way about me, but I really love you. Will you please go out on a date with me and be my girlfriend?" I smile and move closer to him.

"I love you too. You know I'd love to go out with you and be your girlfriend. I promise I'll do anything I can for you." We hear a knock on my door, I get up and open it to see the butler.

"Dinner is ready. The master is ready for you both to come to dinner." Natsu gets up and straightens his suit jacket before we leave. When we go to the dining room the mayor is standing by a window watching the outside. I was quite surprised by how he looks. The mayor has dark hair and a strong build. He couldn't be any older than 25, and he looks quite familiar, I can't seem to place him.

"Lucy! It's great to see you again." He turns around and smiles at me, I was supposed to Marry him, before I told my father no then I said goodbye.

"I never knew you became the mayor of the city." I know Natsu saw that I tensed up.

"Yes well it's been a long while." He stops and looks me up and down than looks at Natsu. "Oh, amd my name in Emil."
