"Alright boys lets get those lines charged it's a hot one tonight." yells Captain Jameson as they arrive on scene. All the men jump out the rig and get straight to work, Ty knew that a handful of them would be sent in the house to conduct a search and rescue for any potential residents who may still be inside. "Fleming's grab an air tank and join Jenkins and Wilkes for searches" yelled the captain, "Yes Sir." Ty said as he strapped on his air tank and joined to of his closest friends, Greg Jenkins and Jeff Wilkes, they've stuck together since middle school and Ty was glad he was going in with them and not some other Black Helmet from Company 18 who had also been called to assist. "Well what are y'all waiting for", Greg says jokingly as he starts walking towards the doorway of the fiery inferno. As they walk into the building they instantly drop to their hands and knees because the visibility is nearly zero and to get the slightest visibility they had to get close to the ground as possible. The men started their way up to the second floor and they could see it was worse than they had thought, as Ty and his friends reach the first door they start to break it down, they broke through the door just as the Captain comes over the radio and tells them not too. About that time Ty heard what sounded like a freight train closing in as he yells "Get Down" but before Jeff could get down the backdraft hit him and knocked him down. Ty turns around to realize that Jeff isn't moving and Greg starts to shake him frantically only to realize he isn't breathing. Ty comes over the radio to tell the Captain that there was a man down, as the flames got worse Greg and Ty drag Jeff down the the steps and out the door where the Medics were waiting. As they loaded Jeff in the stretcher Ty and Greg looked at each other with a realization that this was Jeff's "last call". As the ambulance drive Jeff away, Ty knew what he didn't want to think about, Jeff wasn't going to survive.
