Why must rain be so wet? It doesn't benefit anything from being wet. Why can't it be dry? Dry water falling from the sky. All I want to do is take a walk through my shit-hole of a living place. Why do you feel like you need to rain on me?
I ditch my cigarette. The rain will moisten the tobacco and it'll taste like shit. It already tastes like shit, but it's better when it's not dampened by falling water. I don't even know how much time I spend at home... like four of my twenty-four hours are spent at home. The rest are used for smoking, walking around and contemplating, playing bass and busking. I don't work because I don't want to. I don't need to. I busk whenever I want and I earn as much as I'm going to need.
My name is Reef, by the way. Reef Withers. I'm 16, I'm a douchebag and I spend more time alone then I probably should. My parents pay for me to attend therapy, but I don't need it. There's nothing particularly wrong with me, I just prefer to be alone than get into drama with real people. I get into enough drama with myself. I don't go to school, I don't work, I get into fights with people I don't know and I don't care about anything. How long does it take for my parents to understand I'm perfectly alright, and they should probably cancel my sessions.
I live in a super hippy down in Dudley, which is a few hours away from London. It's super dodgy and you wouldn't want to visit. It's never sunny, you can't get anywhere without breathing in anthrax and everyone offers you drugs and alcohol. You just need to learn to bash their ass if they try anything fancy. I wouldn't say I live with my parents, I kind of just sleep at their house and spend the rest of the day elsewhere. I also don't sleep healthily. But then I end up crashing out at some random corner alley and do whatever I want there.
I'll be honest here, there's an alley behind a tattoo parlour and that one is my favourite. This sounds really babyish but I made a cubby behind it. It's fenced off with electric wires but I've gotten around it so many times that electric shock feels like nothing to me. I've just become numb in the legs where I usually get hit. But this cubby, its made out of a few cardboard boxes and it's big enough for me to stand up in with about half my head space above it. I've got some cool stuff in there, a few cigarettes, a lighter, about four shirts, a water filter so I can drink after it rains, a few bottles of booze and a bunch of pillows so I can sleep in it. It's covered with waterproof tarps and sheets so it never gets soaked.
Right now it's raining, and it only feels like it's going to get stronger. I watch my cigarette burn out as one drop of water hits just the right spot. Currently I'm wearing a Nirvana shirt and ripped black jeans and nothing on my feet. I lost my leather black boots that I always wear, and I need to find them. I've got about six bleeding cuts on my feet from this particular walk alone. They hurt, but my other shoes won't do much better. They're thin high tops with fabric covering, which means I'd get cut either way.
