Chapter Two- The Park:
When he finally made it to the park Alex stood pushing Lily on a swing, she had gotten bigger since the last the Jonah had seen her.
"Hey Alex, hey Lily" Jonah choked out wiping a fake smile on to his pale cheeks.
"Hewwo Jonah!" Lily ran up an hugged him he picked her up and swung her around
"What have you been up to ankle biter?"
"Noffin" she giggled. Jonah had to retaliate the giggle, her letter mispronunciations were so cute.
"Hey Jonah" Alex murmured looking into Jonah's eyes. Jonah blinked at Alex, his red hair shown brightly in the sun of this cool fall day.
"Hey Alex" Jonah walked to the swings placing Lily down in the seat and leaning against the metal bars.
"It's been months since we spoke, are you ok?" Alex asked with a concerned look in his eyes.
"I-I'm ok... It's just been rough since Michael left me... And I've returned a bad habit. I can barely eat, sleep, or get motivated to move. I'm sorry"
Alex walked over and slid up Jonah's sleeves after making sure Lily couldn't see. It exposed Jonah's scars making Jonah hide his eyes under his bangs in shame.
"We have to go home, can you come over tomorrow?" Alex asked gently grasping Lily's hand.
"Yeah... See you tomorrow..." Jonah's voice trailed off as he watched Alex and Lily walk down the sidewalk toward their house.
