Johnathon never quite got over his father's death. That was three years ago. Since then he has done his best to blend in, stay out of the way, and help out his mom. Though he never really liked his father, he learned from his mistakes. Johnathon tries to never trust anyone because that is exactly how his father died- trusting the wrong people. He tends to avoid forming bonds of any sort with others if possible, and he never does anything outside of the "norm" aside from avoiding socializing.
Spencer is what one might call a social "butterfly" though he is VERY manly (At least according to him). Being the new kid, he doesn't know who the "in" crowd is or who the "losers" are so he greets the first person he sees. Johnathon. And when he is ignored, Spence makes it his quest to break this boy's shell and become his friend. But what happens when Spencer sees the monsters and demons? Will he run or will he battle them to protect Johnathon?
