A/N: This may or may not include reference to the night World series. That is where I first heard of the term "Old Soul", however so far that is the extent of the similarities. There are also plenty of other series and stories that reincarnation is used, as it is not a new concept at all.

Addison Johnson was always an odd child. Everybody around her was gentle around her but when Addison is out alone one night (much to her mother's shock, worry, and anger when she finds out) she is approached by a police officer. The way she acts during that, along with some comments she made cause an investigation to be started, as suspicions were raised that she was abused.
The further they dig into the life of the young girl, the more confused they get. Addison doesn't show any signs of being crazy or hallucinating, and she believes everything she says about her past life and being abused is true. They then find out that a young girl was in fact killed by her parents approximately 6 years ago. Addison is five going on six, and when they show her the pictures of the two parents, she spooks.
They hadn't explained anything to her, and yet when she sees their faces, she starts to have a panic attack. The poor cop assigned to this case wonders how on Earth she is going to explain her theory to her superiors- a theory that would almost instantly get her signed up for a test on mental sanity, but a theory that seems the only possible way this child is acting this way.
