Emily Norman is your average teenage girl. She has to do chores, babysit a few children, keep a few secrets for friends. It's understandable that when she finds the oldest kid she babysits (Oliver Craig- age 10), washing blood off of his hands, she starts to mentally freak. She asked him what it was and he answered, "blood" like he was talking about mud. When she asks him where he got blood on his hands (seeing as he looks perfectly fine) he doesn't reply.

Shortly afterwords she sees the kid's family dog slaughtered in the back yard. Not knowing what to do, she plans on telling the first adult to get back about what happened. Somehow, though, Oliver employs her to keep the secret (could it be the fact he has a knife?)- asking her to help him burn the body instead. So now with a dog "missing", neighborhood animals showing up dead, and a massive secret (such as the fact she babysits an, at least, animal murderer)- what's a girl to do?

Especially when she can't go to authorities?
