" No, this is our safe haven, Sammy. We come here when we're sad or scared. It'll keep us safe." Dean spoke up before Kayla could reply which made her glance at him out of the corner of her eye.

" Safe from what?" Sam asked with a curious look.

" Everything." Dean replied after a moment.

" But what if I can't make it here in time?" Sam asked, his attention now completely on Dean.

" Then I'll protect you. Always, little brother." Dean ruffled Sam's hair which made him giggle.

" Promise?" Sam smiled at him.

" Of course." Dean nodded

" Hey, Winchester?" Kayla glanced at Dean as Sam walked ahead of the two.

" Yeah, LePage?" Dean met her gaze.

" You're not so bad." Kayla commented which made Dean arch his eyebrows.

" Whatever you say." Dean smirked as he looked away.

One year later. April 15th 1988.

" Ya gotta aim a little to the left, Winchester. Didn't you learn anything when your dad was here last?" Kayla taunted Dean as he shot a tree a few inches behind the target.

" Shut up, Kayla. You're not helping." Dean snapped as he aimed the gun again, firing once but only hitting the tree again.

" Maybe aim for the tree this time." Angelina teased from behind the two which made Sam chuckle.

" I don't need advice from a four year old." Dean snapped as he turned to glare at the smaller girl.

" You're just being a big baby cause you can't shoot worth a crap." Kayla crossed her arms over her chest as he stuck her tongue out at the now nine year old boy.

" Like you can do any better, LePage." Dean snapped with an annoyed look.

" As a matter of fact..." Kayla took the gun from Dean and aimed it at the target, breathing in and out evenly before pulling the trigger, the bullet implanting itself into the heart of the target.

" Bet you can't make the headshot." Angelina challenged with a smirk.

" You're on, but I get half if your cookie tonight." Kayla bet with a mischievous look.

" Hm... You're on." Angelina agreed after a moment.

Kayla smirked and turned back to the target, lining up the shot before she fired again, the bullet burying itself into the dummies head.

Sam and Angelina stared in shock at Kayla who clicked on the safety of the gun before handing it back to Dean who's face was red in anger and embarrassment that a girl could shoot better than him.

" I could help you align the shot, ya know...." Kayla offered as she handed the gun back to Dean who hesitated before sighing quietly.

" Later, when Sam and Angelina aren't here..." He muttered, just loud enough for Kayla to hear before laughing sarcastically.

" I don't need your help, LePage. Thanks anyway." Dean said rather loudly before handing the gun back to Kayla.

" Can you show me?" Angelina asked hopefully.

" Me too?" Sam asked as well. Both gave her big puppy eyes, Sam with his hazel doe eyes and Angelina with her large blue eyes and long eyelashes which she batted at Kayla hopefully.
