" Dad wants us to pack.... we're leaving." Dean mumbled which made Sam frown once more.
" Leaving? Why?" Kayla asked as she got off of the bed, her attention now fully on Dean.
" Dad and Bobby fought.... Dad's taking us with him this time." Dean explained quietly, his gaze flicking from Kayla to Sam.
" Daddy mad?" Sam asked nervously which made Dean sigh quietly.
" Just get packed, Sammy." Dean gave Sam a reassuring smile before turning and walking out of the room.
" Everything will be fine, Sammy. You'll see. This'll be fun." Kayla said with a reassuring smile.
Now.
" Can we at least say goodbye to Bobby?" Dean asked as he threw his last bag into the trunk of his father's impala.
" No. Get in the damn car." John slammed the trunk shut and practically stomped to the drivers side before forcing open the door, not sparing the house a glance as he climbed into the car, shutting the door with a creak and a slam.
Kayla and Dean shared a look before Dean climbed into the passengers seat while Kayla climbed into the back with Sammy and the new girl. Kayla had already forgotten her name but she'd figure it out sooner it later.
The ride was completely silent, uncomfortably so. Not even the normal blaring rock and roll that normally filled the silence.
" So where are we going?" Kayla asked after a moment but John gave no reply.
The soft rumble of the Impala had been too much for Sammy, lulling him to sleep on Kayla's lap while the girl that Kayla still didn't know the name of, slept peacefully against the Impala's window.
" We should seriously get these two a car seat..." Kayla mumbled to herself, her hands running delicately through Sam's hair to calm him as he slept.
He had a habit of having nightmares while he slept so knowing that Dean or Kayla were there to protect him soothed him.
" South Dakota." John said finally which made Kayla jump a bit but she quickly relaxed as Sam whined in annoyance, not opening his eyes.
" Why are we going to South Dakota?" Dean questioned, his first question of the entire ride.
John's eyes stayed focused on the road in front of them, his hand reaching to click on the radio instead of answering.
" 10/10 parenting, dad." Kayla mumbled under her breath as she looked out the car window at the passing sights, letting the soft Metallica lull her to sleep as she leaned against the cool glass.
The trip turned out to be more awkward than anything else. Kayla thought for a moment that the girl that she still didn't know the name of was dead at one point, considering she slept, damn near the whole trip...but as they stopped at a disgusting gas station, the girl lifted her head, eyes revealing a dazzling blue eyes as they snapped open to look around in confusion.
