Evelyn approached the door not knowing whether to knock or to just open it. She desperately needed to see Braeden. Now. She decided opening the door would be the best option. She couldn't wait there forever. Upon opening the door, she poked her head inside. It was a bedroom. A huge bedroom. Full of clothes, Paintings, aesthetic decorations, and carpet. She took a step in and was instantly pulled over to a chair and mirror. Another woman appeared with black long hair and bangs that covered her eyes. She wore classic maid clothing and in her hand was a pink hairbrush.
As the maid did her work, Evelyn sat still as a doll. In the end, she looked like a doll anyways. Her eyes were decorated with false lashes and red eyeshadow, lined with black eyeliner. Her nose was contoured to look smaller and her jawline was prominent. Her cheeks, rosy red, were being pampered and her lips were coloured with "Kiss Me: RED" lipstick. She didn't even get 10 seconds to look at herself before the maid tapped her shoulder and brought her over to the closet. Dresses covered the bed like a large carpet. Red seemed to be the theme of this house.
Ring, ring, ring.
A bell sounded. The same bell that the other woman had shook. The maid raised her head and sighed. "Come with me." She spoke softly and led her down the corridor. As Evelyn and the maid walked the empty, cold, halls, the bell rung again and they scurried. Reaching their destination, which Evelyn found out was the main staircase, the maid left her alone at the top, standing behind the gold railings. Evelyn looked down at the bottom to see the red woman looking up at her, smiling again.
Evelyn noticed that the woman was waiting for something, a movement perhaps. Evelyn twirled around in the red dress. It showed skin but she didn't care, her mother was gone, she wouldn't be controlled anymore. "Oh my he'll love it!" The woman squealed in excitement. She motioned for Evelyn to come down the stairs. Evelyn slowly made her way down. She felt as though she was finally a queen. A queen with no rules. As they made their way again through twisting halls, they approached the dining room. It was grand! The walls a dove white. The table a smooth marble. And the dishes were so clean that they shone from the chandelier light.
Evelyn was seated in a fluffy, red chair that had bronze hand lifts and silver decorations. Food from all over the world was surrounding her. It all looked so good. But..something wasn't right. She had forgotten what she had care for in the first place. Braeden. She had only followed the woman in because she had assumed it was his mom, she looked like him! She assumed that this was just what fancy people did. She was about to have another break down. She feared she would harm someone again. She pushed the cutlery away from herself and stood up, ready to leave. Until, someone put a hand around her waist.
She blinked. And blinked. And blinked.
She turned around after about 7 blinks and was face to face with him. "Braeden.." She whispered in disbelief. He smiled and took a seat beside her. He looked at her and she could finally see that his eyes too, were tinted red. He picked up a knife and fork and started digging into a steak piece. Evelyn sat there, staring at her crush as he stared back. His eyes were burning into her mind, making her feel sensitive. She quickly took her two utensils and started to cut some chicken in half. Then, the conversation started up.
"So, Evelyn, may I call you Eve?" The woman asked. "Uh sure." Eve answered chewing her meat. "Good. Oh and I'm Livian, Braeden's mother." Livian added in. Eve nodded her head, she was mainly focused on the food. She was weirded out. Something, no, nothing felt right. Her mind started turning to a red raging sea. She started groaning, she stomach felt achy. Something was wrong, or something was in the food. She stumbled backwards in her chair. Her arms and legs feeling numb. Her teeth were tingling and her tongue was tasteless. Her gums were bleeding and her heart was pounding.
Was she poisoned?
