I stared down at the blank lined paper in front of me, completely blanking, stuck in writers-block. I brought my hands to my head with a frustrated sigh, pulling my greased hair away from my forehead. I was about to write an assignment for my english class. But, how can I write it when I have nothing to write it about?

My pen was mere centimeters from the page when I heard a girl cry out. I stood up from my chair, remembering that Darry and Sodapop were at work. I know I shouldn't go outside, but someone's getting hurt. I sprinted over to the front door, pulling it open enough for me to look out and see a Greaser girl being picked on by some Soc. I patted my back pocket, making sure I had my blade on me in case I needed it. I took one last look at my bedroom door before sprinting outside and next to the girl who was on the ground.

"Hey, why don't you leave her alone? She ain't done nothing to you." I gripped onto the Soc's arm before he could lay another finger on her.

"Why don't you go put more grease in your hair and get out of here, punk." He spat out the word 'punk' as he shook out of my grip. I heard him cry out in pain after realizing that she had kneed him between his legs. I gripped her hard enough on the arm to help her up.

"C'mon, lets get out of here before he gets up." We ran out of his reach. I didn't know where else to go so I took her to the lot. We slumped down on the old car seat, out of breath.

"Thank.. You." She mumbled quietly in between breaths. I looked over at her, taking in her features, -she had a red tank top on with a black leather jacket and worn-out blue jeans. She didn't like the other Greaser girls, there was something different about her- as I nodded my head.

"Yeah, no problem." I took a deep breath before leaning back against the seat, looking up at the sky.

I looked over at him as his gaze pointed up towards the sky. He was real cute. Blush began to tint my cheeks as I thought about it more. "So what's your name?" I asked, just trying to make some small talk, anything besides this silence.

"Ponyboy. Ponyboy Curtis. You?" He sat up on his elbows, finally looking over at me as I leaned back on my hands, letting the sun touch my unclothed skin.

"What an original name. And my name's Y\N." I meant it. By his name being original, I mean. it was cute and the way he looked, it fit him. I gave him a quick smile before going back to what I was doing. I felt a pair of eye's on me, letting my lips curl up into a smile I opened my eyes. Seeing that I was right and also seeing a pink-faced Ponyboy. A small, giggle-like noise escaped my lips.

I jumped when I heard the  slight sound of crunching leaves come from behind us. The first thought that it could be a Soc and to pull out my blade. Gripping onto the black handle, I whipped it out, ready to protect Pony and I if needed. But there was no Soc. In fact, the complete opposite. Instead, there stood a boy. Not much older than Pony or I, I presumed. He wore a worn-out jean jacket, that looked a little small as it shrugged up his arm an inch or two. His jeans were light and he had a black t-shirt underneath the jacket. He looked sad. Like a puppy that had been kicked one too many times. I had seen him around. I think his names Johnny.

I sighed once I had fully noticed him. Flipping my blade back and sliding it into my pocket. I looked back at Pony, hoping he didn't think it was weird for a girl to be holding onto a blade. Instead of the look I was thinking, he had a satisfied smirk on his face. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion before I looked forward at Johnny.

"H-hi," was all he said. I gave him a quick smile and returned the greeting. He looked so fragile, I was afraid that I'd say the wrong thing and he'd break.

We ended up spending a few hours there, talking and listening to what the others had to say. I began to doze of when I felt Pony shaking me a little, whispering my name. I shook myself out of the drowsiness and sat up, thanking the boys for listening to me and I thanked Pony again for helping me out. I kissed each of them on the cheek -being mindful of Johnny's cut- and walked away with a smile on my face. Not only did I found two people to listen to me, but I also found two new friends.
