The first thought that came to Y/N's mind as she closed her car door was how she was going to make friends in this new town. She was nervous about starting her new high school. She wasn't considered popular or rich at her old school, but she was nice. Her chest rose and fell with a deep breath, telling herself that she was going to be all right.

As she walked up the steps into her new house, she heard the faint sound of laughter. She looked down the short street and saw a group of teenage boys joking around and laughing. There was six of them. Two of the boys she recognized worked at the local gas station. One of them had a real interesting name, but for some reason, she couldn't put her finger on it. The others she hadn't seen before. One was tall, dark hair and looked mean. Another boy was wearing a Mickey-Mouse shirt. The other two looked younger, maybe 16? One had dark hair and tan skin and the other a slightly lighter shade of hair and paler skin.

As I looked at the boys approaching, I realized that they were now looking back at me. The one with the interesting name smiled. And boy, did it make my knees shake. If looks could kill, I'd be six-feet down. I shook myself out of whatever trance this boy had me in and quickly unlocked the door, not giving myself any time to wave or even smile back. When I got on the other side of the door I leaned against it, hoping that none of the boys' noticed how weird I acted. When the blood was even throughout my body I took a peek out the window, feeling a ping of sadness realizing the boys' were no longer there but also somewhat relieved.

~2 1/2 hours later~
The couch in my parents' new house was extremely comfortable. I didn't want to get up. But when I heard the faint knock on the door, I knew I had to. I could hear the faint pitter-patter as I walked across the living room with bare feet. I peeked out of the front window and tried to see the person on the front steps. To my dismay, I couldn't see their face. I shrugged a bit and decided to open the door anyway. A brown-haired boy stood there. In fact, it was the one who smiled at me earlier. The one with movie star potential. He smiled at me again and my face lit up with heat.
"Hello?" the question was pretty much all that could leave my mouth at the moment. His looks were beyond gorgeous and made my words and breath catch in my throat.
"Hi. My names Sodapop. I live just down the street," he pointed in the direction in what I assumed to be his house.
"You look a little new, so I figured I'd come and introduce myself." I couldn't help but smile a bit at his accent. It was cute. And it fit him well.
