You just had to catch the flu, didn't you? In all fairness it was winter, and you hadn't gotten a flu jab that year because your doctor said it would be ok. Now you're cursing him as tissues litter your bed. For the past two weeks you had been incapable of even getting out of bed much, let alone leaving your house and going to work. The very thought of making a cup of coffee for someone else just made your head ache.
Netflix appeared to be your only friend in this time of need. All your real friends seemed to have abandoned you, not that you blamed them. You were in a state of grossness. Your pyjamas must stink as much as you now, who knows the last time you showered at this point. You were lucky you still lived with your parents otherwise you couldn't imagine what it would be like if you ran out of lemsip.
However, your sickness could also be seen as a blessing. You knew that there was no chance you'd be able to catch Namjoon again as he would most likely have returned to South Korea if his timings were correct. And, considering you hadn't heard anything from your work concerning him, you felt that the date didn't go as well as you had originally thought. Plus, it gave you time to really think on your life. You were a recent graduate wasting his life in a coffee shop. It was certainly not what you had imagined for your early-to-mid-twenties. So, after the first week of sickness, you handed in your resignation triumphantly. Through email, of course, there was no way you could have made it in to work at that time, so they would just have to deal with it.
Now, you were just in limbo. Having recovered over the past week, not back to full health but getting there, you now considered your options. You hadn't really thought much on going back to South Korea since you had graduated but ever since you had met Namjoon it wouldn't leave your mind. The nostalgia of your year over there came crashing down and you had an ache to return there. You had always intended to visit it again, just not so soon. But now, you needed to go there.
You decided to google some teaching options out there, to see if there was anything out there for you. If it was based in Seoul you would jump in a heartbeat, but in all honesty, you were now itching to get over there. Plus, it would be a great opportunity to sharpen your Korean as having it let get a little lack lustre over the past few years, it was a little embarrassing that your Korean wasn't as good as it once was.

Namjoon meanwhile was waiting with anticipation for anything from you. Since he had left that phone number with that other barista, he had been almost sick with anxiety for when the call or text from you would come. Eventually, as the weeks passed, and nothing was heard from you, he simply assumed that you weren't interested. It was a reasonable jump in logic, but it didn't mean that made it hurt any less.
He was really interested in you and he had hoped you had felt the same. He was sure of it, almost 100% positive. And yet, as time went on, and as he finished the world tour and returned home to the BTS dorms, he couldn't help but feel disheartened by your silence.
There was an inkling of hope inside of him that remained despite it all. Every time he thought of you he could feel his heart flutter. He knew that his home country wouldn't necessarily be the most accepting of him if he ever came out, but the people who really mattered in his life didn't care, and that was enough. The fans that would leave because of his sexuality weren't real fans, he would tell himself, but it would still hurt.
"You still waiting on that Barista, Joon?" Yoongi teased as he saw his leader stare at his phone for what felt like the millionth time that day.
"What?" Namjoon snapped out of simply staring at his phone, "No, of course not!"
"What's that?" Hoseok looked up from where his hair was being styled and met Namjoon's eyes in the mirror.
He was going to reply but Yoongi beat him to it, "Joon is still drooling over that Barista we met back in the UK."
