The boy with the dark hair walks the path that leads to the dock on the lake. He walks neither fast or slow, just a leisurely pace.
The sounds of the forest surround him; birds chirping in the trees, crickets jumping about, leaves crunching beneath his feet. A sense of calm envelopes him.
The trees clear and the lake comes into sight. The light from the sun shimmers on the water, the boy takes in every detail of this beautiful place. He only fails to notice one thing; he wasn't the only one walking that very same path.
The boy with the dark hair and slender body reaches the end of the dock. He takes the sight in, watching the birds soar in the sky as the sun wraps around him like a warm blanket.
Something dark and sinister approaches him, it comes through the forest and the creatures slowly quiet sensing it's malvoyance. Yet this boy wrapped in the scenery doesn't realise. He stays where he is; feet planted to the wooden boards of the pier.
It grows closer and closer, the thing is now only feet away. It gracefully makes its way to the unsuspecting boy.
When it's just behind him, he senses another presence he goes to turn but it's already to late.
She places her hands on his shoulders and turns him. He had thought he'd known beauty but in that moment he was proved wrong.
She had long red curly locks, a heavenly body and eyes like the bluest ocean. As he stares in awe he doesn't notice that they were inching closer to the edge.
The women leans in close her lips only inches from his, there share a breath for a second, then the boy has none.
He hits the water before he knows what's happening. The coolness is a shock to his body and he struggles to see anything. Hands cling tightly to his shoulders where the women was. In her place now is a creature like no other. Where her legs once were is now a long scaly tale, her teeth that were once straight and smooth are now pointed and razor like, her nails sharp and almost talon like dig into his shoulders.
It propels further into the depths taking the boy with her. He struggles against it, thrashing his body. His lungs tighten the longer he goes without oxygen, his struggles grow weak and his mind grows weary.
Before long his body has met the bottom of the lake, he breathes in a big gulp of water just as the horrifying beauty infront of him bites into his shoulder and he descends into darkness.
