Dinah's pov

I was awaken by the soft sound of bottles clicking, a little bit counfused I sat on the bed scaning the room that was unfamiliar to me.

I breathed the soft and warm air in Miami and the I remember that we were in a hotel in Lauren's hometown.
I put on a robe and looked for Lauren because she was not next to me in bed, where she should be. We managed to get a flight for that night and according to my clock we just get in Miami two hours after midnight and we decided to go to our Hotel room instead of Lauren's mom house, Lauren was barely with me, once she woke up after a nightmare she went from crying to be totally calm but something was out of place in her mood, she was putting herself an armor, she was trying to prepare herself to be strong the next few days to her family, that according to her thoughts they have more right to be broken than her, but she has the same right, and she knows it.
Cameron was her dad, he gained the right to be called like that after Lauren losing Mike his biological dad at the age of 10, I remembered Lauren being broken a lot of times, Mike was the best conversationalist to her, the best friend, the best dork, the best protector, and I bet he was, because Lauren inherited that from him, but Cameron was her other half.

While Mike was a the softest and sweetest part of my girlfriend, Cameron was her though part, her strength, her Party side, all the insecurities she had he managed to make them strengths, the Lauren I met before him was so different, the Lauren she is right now it's better, she is like she reached her peak and there was nothing on earth that can get her down, unless this...
I'm so afraid that she is gonna lose herself after this, but I'm more afraid that I won't be able to help her.

"Lo baby, what are you doing?" I asked softly standing behind her in the terrace.

"Jesus" she jumped in surprised " you scared the shit out if me" she mumble and I wen to hug her by her waist.

"Sorry" I simply replied.

" I'm trying to forget" she said after a while of just us holding each other. " I'm drinking to forget " she said bringing her beer to her lips to take a great sip.

" Oh baby" I hugged her and kissed her neck softly.

" I just don't get it D" she withdrew giving me her back to lean on the balcony " he was out of this shity life in the one he was "

"What life?" I asked confused.

"Uh" she looked at me like she just released a secret" I guess I never told you... He um he used to be in a gang, but he quit While before he and my mom got together."

" So you think it's because of that?" I asked cautiously.

" No, absolutely no, it was his daughter and ex wife, I'm pretty sure of it" she pressed her bottle so hard that her knuckles went white.
I was about to talk when she actually broke the bottle with her hand, hurting herself and that was my cue to stop her from doing something stupid, she was actually contemplating the idea of keep hurting herself to make herself feel something.

"Okay babe stop, let's get inside, you need to get that clean and... " I was cut off by her lips on mine. "Babe... Baby..." I tried to stop her but she stopped herself by just laying her head in my shoulder, she tried to distract herself trying to make our with me, but she knew it's was impossible.

" I'm so pissed off!" she cried " I'm so mad at him"

"At Cameron?"

"No! I'm so mad at God" she cried more " how He could even take my dad twice?" she closed her fists in my back " haven't I suffered enough?!"

"Shhh baby!" I rubbed her back " oh God! I wish I could take your pain away"

"Just hold me babe! Just hold me and I will be fine" she relaxed herself in my embrace.

"Always baby, always" I mumbled against her temple " I love you so much baby" I mumbled while she cried in my shoulder.

Tomorrow will be a long day.
