Change and Chances

Green's PoV

"What do you mean by that?" Red asked with a clueless expression on his face.

"Well y/n has been gone a long time and her life has changed just like ours. I know she and her boyfriend had been dating for almost two years the last time she wrote to me. This might be your last chance to change her mind about her boyfriend," I explained as I watched a look of panic and fear wash over Red.

"You don't think that-" Red stopped in his tracks and pulled down his cap to cover is wide eyes with shaking hands.

"I mean there's a chance that-. What I meant to say is that it's a possibility she might not ever-" I started to suggest.

"That she might never come back," Red finished with a tone of disbelief.

"It's not set in stone, but if you don't do anything about it well, it might as well be," I shrugged as we arrived near our homes.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow," Red yelled as he ran the rest of the way to his home.

"Yeah smell ya later," I yelled as I watched him vanish into the distance as the space between us grew.

"Oh I see that Red's back in town," Gramps called out from another room as I opened the door to the Pokemon Lab which also served as our home.

"Yeah, he'll be staying in his house for awhile since y/n is coming to visit," I replied as I walked to my room upstairs.

"I wondered if that would be the case. He really does love her more than he'll ever admit," Gramps chuckled as I kicked of my shoes and laid down on my bed.

"You knew about that," I asked slightly confused with a puzzled face.

"Of course I knew. It was blatantly obvious and I may be old but I am certainly not blind," Gramps replied as I closed my eyes.

It really was obvious that my best friend, Red, was in love with y/n. She was perfect for him and apparently her current boyfriend along with all the other guys that flirted with her through the years thought she was perfect for them too. I was thinking about y/n's visit and what we were going to do. Then the phone rang and I leaped out of my bed. Who would possibly call at this hour?

I'll update twice this week since I missed last week's update. I'll have some new chapters after this one for those of you who have been patiently waiting for new material.
