Day 8: I Cried Because I Love You

Lucy's POV

"Are you alright?"

I noticed he has been checking his phone from time to time. I can sense his body tensed everytime we were in a crowd.

He brushed his hair impatiently.

"I'm fine. Don't mind me."

I examined his expression on his face. I can tell that something is bothering him yet he won't tell me about it.

"Is it about work?" I asked.

He inhaled deeply and diverted his attention to me. His eyes were deep. It felt intimidating. Like somewhere, I felt scared for the first time.

I got embarrassed when he started to act coldly.

Earlier he was avoiding my gaze. Like he pauses everytime our eyes met.

And now...he seemed to be a bit strange.

He keeps on looking from behind.

Each time he turns around, I followed his direction.

I want to know what makes him guarded.

We stopped walking when we reached the exit of the butterfly garden.

He unconsciously reached for my wrist and held it gently.

"Shall we go back?" he asked.

His eyes were roaming in the crowd.

I kept my whole self pinned on him.

Like I'm trying to make him realize that I'm here, beside him.

Yet, his whole presence has been divided with something else.

"Sure. Let's go back."

He pulled me away from the crowd and led us way back to the hotel.

I was staring his back.

I wonder what's gotten into him?

I've never seen him distracted.

My whole attention diverted to his warm hand that was linked to mine.

I gently pressed his hand.

I wonder if it helps.

I just want him to know that all throughout today, I have been with him.

It's almost seven in the evening.

And,

Here I am, locked inside my room.

I was looking outside, watching the people enjoying the beauty of the sea at night. There were some people having barbeques and bonfires.
