Chapter 22

"I know you’ve been hurt by someone else, I can tell by the way you carry yourself. If you let me, here’s what I’ll do; I’ll take care of you."

Jawan and I have been doing everything we usually do with our music and everything, but Jawan had to go to Los Angelos for a big meeting with his label for a couple days and I had to stay here in Atlanta.

I was in our room working on a song. I had my cell phone next to me just in case Jawan called me. I kept looking at it, wondering if he would call me. I was in the middle of writing a verse and I heard the phone ring.

I grabbed it thinking it was Jawan but it was Niko.

“Hello?” I asked. “Hey Sam, just called because we haven’t talked in a while and I heard Jawan’s in LA.”

“He is.” I sighed and looked down, thinking of Jawan. “What’s wrong?” Niko asked.

“I miss him , I mean I’m used to him being away sometimes, but I still miss him.”

“It’s alright Sam, I'm coming over. I want to cheer you up.”

I hung up and got back to writing. After a while longer of writing I heard the doorbell ring. I ran downstairs and opened the door.

“Hey, Sam.” he said smiling. “Hey.” I hugged him tight and let him in.

“So what are we doing?”

He lifted up a bag filled with DVDs and junk food.

“This is what we’re doing.” he smiled and he sat down on the couch with me. We started watching the movie and we started watching it. We watched movies all night and I fell asleep with my head laying in his lap.

I woke up with the front door opening and it was Jawan. Niko had me against his chest and his arm around me. I felt Niko pick me up and put me in Jawan’s arms as he carried me upstairs to bed. “Baby…?” He looked down at me. “Yes boo?” I smiled. “You’re home.” We reached our room and he laid me down in our bed.

“Yeah baby, now it’s really late. Go back to sleep.” He kissed me lightly on my cheek and laid my head in his chest. “Goodnight baby.” he said kissing my forehead. I snuggled into his arms and drifted off to sleep with him.

Jawan woke up today feeling really tired, achy and sick so I’ve been taking care of him.

“Boo!” he yelled for me from upstairs. “Coming!” I ran upstairs.

“What’s wrong baby?” I went up to him and sat on our bed. “I’m sore.” he pouted his bottom lip. “Aww poor baby, you want me to rub your back?”

“Mhm...” he nodded and I reached out my arms “Okay come here boo.” I started rubbing his back.

I was rubbing his strong back, kissing it and wrapping my arms around him from behind. “Boo, does that feel better?” I whispered against his back, “Yeah, thank you baby” I looked at him.

“You want me to get you anything baby?” he shook his head no and I kissed his cheek. “Alright, I’ll be downstairs making you the chicken noodle soup okay?” He laid back down under the blanket and rested his head on the pillow closing his eyes. “Okay baby.” I smiled and went back downstairs.

I finished making him the soup and brought it upstairs. “Here honey.” I gave him the tray with the bowl on it and he sniffed. “Thank you boo.” he leaned in to kiss me but I stopped him. “Baby, no kisses you’re sick.” I kissed his cheek. “Those are the only kisses you’re getting until you feel better.” he pouted and started eating while I sat next to him.

When Jawan was like this he was like a big baby. He was the cutest thing when he’s like this. Jawan finished his soup and gave me the bowl. “Boo, that was really good.” he said with his scratchy, tired voice. “Thank you, babe.” I took his bowl downstairs and went back in our room.

I laid next to him and I rubbed his chest. It was warm as hell. “Baby, you have a fever.” I felt his forehead and neck. “I don’t know...I guess.” He said carelessly. “I thought it was just a little cold you had. You’re burning up.” I felt the sheets and they were warm too.

“Baby, aren’t you hot under this?” He shook his head no and snuggled into them even more. I sighed. “Okay, as long as you’re comfortable. I held his hand and we fell asleep.

I woke up with the sound of someone throwing up. I rubbed my eyes and went in the bathroom and I saw Jawan throwing up. “Oh my God.” I rubbed his back as he threw up and he felt even warmer than he did before. He finished and I held his hand. “Boo what’s wrong? Does your stomach hurt?” He shook his head no and I looked at him worrily. “Then what’s wrong boo?” he was about to talk and started throwing up again.

I sighed and rubbed his back. “Babe, what’s wrong?” I looked at him really worried and he got back up. “Baby, I don’t feel good” I hugged him and he felt like he was on fire. “Okay, I’m gonna take you to hospital okay pookie?” he nodded and used mouthwash and brushed his teeth.

“Let me take your temperature baby.” I put the thermometer in his mouth and he had a 103 degree fever. I gasped and grabbed his hand. “C’mon boo, put on a shirt we’re going to the hospital.”

He put on a shirt and shoes and we went to the hospital. When we got there it was crowded and we went up to the desk. “Excuse me, my husband has a 103 degree fever and we need a doctor.” the receptionist sighed. “Okay, we’ll try and get a doctor as soon as possible, what’s your husband’s name?” She asked, chomping on her gum. “Jawan Harris.” I said. I could tell the receptionist knew who he was, as she smiled widely.

“Alright, you’re set we’ll get a doctor as soon as possible.” I smiled. “Okay, thank you.” I held Jawan hand and sat him down.

“Boo boo, lay down you must be tired.” He laid down in my lap and I was rubbing his cheek singing to him softly. “I can’t believe I’m so lost, in your eyes. Somehow you really caught me, by surprise. I’m so stuck in a trance, there’s no way to fight it...” I heard him lightly snoring and I kissed his cheek. “Goodnight baby.”

I waited and waited until the called for Jawan and it felt like forever. “Jawan Harris.” I sprouted up and shook Jawan to wake him up. “Babe, get up.” he groaned and sat up. “Let’s go baby.” I held his hand and we walked into the room.

“Hello.” the doctor shook my hand and I sat Jawan down on the bed. “Hi, nice to meet you.” I said smiling, “Alright, so what’s wrong here?” I sighed. “Well, my husband was sick yesterday and I realized he had a cold so I was taking care of him, and in the middle of the night I heard him throwing up.” I rubbed Jawan's back and kissed his warm cheeks.“Alright, um what has he been eating lately?” “I made him chicken noodle soup and all he’s been drinking is water.” She was writing all the stuff down and gave me a slip.

“Okay, so he may have a stomach virus, so just keep him on bed rest, and make sure he doesn’t eat anything. But he can drink water.” I sighed and looked at Jawan. “Okay, thank you so much” I shook the doctor’s hand and we left.

We got home and I put Jawan in bed. “Boo go to sleep” I kissed his cheek and his forehead. “I love you baby” I say sweetly rubbing his cheek. “I love you too boo boo” he said smiling weakly in a tired voice. I laid next to his warm body and he held me closer to him slowly falling asleep.
