Giselle stared at the door. She didn't know if she would ever see Edward again because she didn't even know if she was gonna to go back to that place. She knew she didn't belong there the second she first entered the building. The blonde lady at the front desk made that clear from day one.

It had been two days since Giselle and Edward had their argument. Edward had been calling her non-stop but she never answered. Giselle was confused at first as to how he got her number but then she realized that he had a lot of money and probably hired someone to find out every detail of her life.

Giselle grabbed her coat and walked outside. It was a light drizzle but she didn't mind. It was slowly getting warmer outside since it was April and spring was just beginning. Giselle walked down her street and into the city but she didn't know where she was going. She then spotted Pier 25. She walked over to it and glanced down at the water. Little droplets of rain crashed onto the oceans surface.

Giselle stared out into the distance, not moving an inch as it started to rain at a steady pace now. She didn't care that she was getting wet. She didn't care about alot of things recently. The rain started coming down heavier and soon she was soaking wet, her dark brown hair was now slicked down to her head. Little droplets of rain ran down her face, some ran towards her lips and others ran towards her jaw where they fell to the ground.

"I thought I might find you here." A familiar voice said behind her. She turned around to see Edward, perfectly dry under a large umbrella. In the distance, she saw his Rolls Royce.

"What do you want?" Giselle asked bitterly. She couldn't understand why he wanted to be around her so much.

"I want you to come back to work. I want you to continue being my assistant and to be around me." Edward shouted through the sound of the rain pouring down on the ground around them.

"In order for that to happen, I need to know why you had your little outburst in the first place!" Giselle shouted back. The rain was still falling and drenching her body.

"I was jealous for God's sake! There I said it! Lawrence is always screwing around with girls and I thought that you would be his next victim! It irritated me that you would be so blind as to be friends with him so quickly! I know what you've been through and I didn't want you to get hurt again!" Edward explained. Giselle stood there in disbelief. Why would Edward Copeland be so protective of her?

"I'm not interested in him Lawrence! God, you should've just told me instead of just screaming at me!" Giselle snapped. His excuses were unacceptable. He shouldn't take his anger out on anyone because of something they didn't know about or something they did that he didn't like.

Edward sauntered towards her. She watched his every move as he was now holding the umbrella over her to prevent her from getting even more wet. He lifted his hand up to her cheek, cradling her face in his large hand. She furrowed her brows at his actions.

Edward then dropped his hand from her face.

"If you want to come back to work, I'll be there waiting but if not, please call me and tell me." He addressed before turning around and walking towards his car. Giselle was now standing in the rain by herself, Edward's figure getting further and further away until he got in his car and left.

Giselle started crying although it wasn't noticable with the rain dripping down her face. Her tears would've just been mistaken as the rain since she just stood there silently crying.

She finally found the will to move and began walking away from the pier. She walked all the way home in the pouring rain and when she got there, she was soaking wet. She took off her shoes and let them dry. They weren't very wet except for the bottom of the shoes but her trenchcoat was soaked and so was her sweater. She threw both of them in the dryer and left her hair wet. She grabbed a blanket from the couch and snuggled up to it.

The clock on her phone read 5:30. Edward was about to leave work she assumed so she decided to text him.

"Hey. I'll be at work tomorrow morning. Sorry for skipping the past few days."
- Giselle

She tapped the send button and shut off her phone. She had over thirty missed calls from him and all of them went to voicemail. Sometimes he left a voicemail and sometimes he didn't.

Giselle decided to go out to eat that night since she'd had pizza three nights in a row. She changed into another sweater and a pair of leggings and some UGG boots. She grabbed her trenchcoat from the dryer and it was toasty warm. She put it on and grabbed her wallet and house keys and left.

She walked to a local Irish pub that served burgers and wings. She walked in and the sound of people conversing and the music was deafening. She walked over to the bar and waited for someone to take her order.

"Hi! What can I get ya?" A younger male worker asked her. She looked at the menu and ordered a burger and fries.

"Um can I also get a shot of tequila?" Giselle asked before the man left. He nodded and grabbed a shot glass and filled it up with the strong alcohol. He slid it across the counter to Giselle and she stopped it before it fell off the counter. She lifted it up to her lips and threw it back into her mouth. She set it down on the counter and waited for her food.

After she was done eating, she decided to stay and have a couple of drinks. She already had two shots of tequila and was currently sipping on a beer.

"Hey there pretty thing. Wanna have a drink with me and my friends?" A twenty something guy asked behind her, slurring his words.. She glanced behind him and replied with a stern "no." He clearly didn't like that answer because her kept on asking her.

"Look, I'm not in the mood to hang out with you and you frat boys, so for now, just fuck off!" Giselle shouted at him. He glared at her and turned around but not before muttering the word "bitch." Giselle downed the rest of her beer and got up. She walked out of the bar and checked her phone. It was almost eight at night. She walked home, listening to the cars go by and the sounds of people shouting in other near by bars. When she got home, she was glad. She had drank a little too much and felt that it was a little unsafe to be walking alone. She debated calling Edward but didn't want to bother him. Giselle stumbled over to the couch and collapsed onto it. In a matter of a few minutes, she had fallen asleep.
