Ch.14: Reunited

Mitch's POV

I sit on the ground of the freezer, staring at the door.

'Why Jerome? why make him go through that?'

I hear the clinking of keys and the door opens to reveal a beaten up Jason.

"Jason!" I exclaim, my voice scratchy and hoarse again.

"Hey Mitch, glad to hear your voice." he says, his voice soft and quiet.

"What did they do to you?" I ask, standing up.

"Nega Squid made Ryan and Ian beat me and Quentin after you left with Jerome." he says.

"Where's Jerome? how are you able to walk around without a squid being with you?"

"Jerome killed Nega Squid, then passed out from the pain."

"The pain of?"

"The pain that had been controlling him." he responds, looking outside the door.

"Let's go, I think Squidlox is about to find us."

I nod and run out the door.

We run into the cell room where Quentin is putting on Ian's glasses, Jerome's body is on the ground in front of a cell, and a weak looking Squidlox is walking in.

I stop dead in my tracks and stare at the squid.

"Guys help." It whimpers.

"Ty?" Jason asks.

It nods and falls to the ground.

We run over to him and kneel down next to his weak body.

"What happened?" I ask.

"I killed the original Squidlox while we were fighting Shadow. When Nega Squid found out, he made me Squidlox. Then he made me do horrible things to you..." he trails off.

Jason looks at me, but I continue to look at Ty.

"Ty, you couldn't control yourself, just like Jerome, Ian and Ryan. They all had some part in hurting at least one of us but they couldn't control themselves. Don't blame anyone but the squids." I say.

"T-hanks Mitch." he smiles, then passes out.

"We need to go, now." I say.

Jason, Ian and Quentin nod in agreement.

"Where's Ryan?" I ask.

"Right here, I went to throw Nega Squid in a lava pool. It's gone for good." Ryan says, entering the room.

"Okay, let's go. Jason can you get Ty? I would but my back is torn up." I chuckle.

"Yeah no problem, Ian can you help me?"

Ian nods and they walk over to Ty.

Ryan and Quentin walk over to Jerome and pick him up as well.

"Is there a way we can talk to Seto or Adam?" I ask.

"We'd have to leave the castle but, yeah through Seto's telepathy we can." Jason says.

I nod and run towards the exit.

'Seto? can you hear me?'

'Mitch? where are you? weren't you in the squidinator.'

'Don't ask, anyway we're free and need help getting back to base... can you help?'

'I'd love to, but I can't... fighting those squids weakened me and I can't use my magic. Sorry.'

'It's fine, where are you? we can walk there.'

'We are at the safe house we made while the wither was in the overworld.'

'Okay, on our way.. see ya.'

'See ya.'

"Guys, We need to walk there... Seto's too weak to use any magic." I tell the others as they join me outside.

They nod and we start to walk.

"Where are we going?" Jason asks.

"We are going to the safe house that we made when the wither came into the overworld." I answer.

"Okay."

We walk for an hour before we make it to the cliff.

I run up to the door and knock.

Adam opens the door and pulls me into a hug.

"Hey Mitch!" Adam exclaims.

"Hey Adam." I wince as he pats my back.

"What's wrong?" he pulls away.

"The squidinator." I say simply.

"Oh.. sorry bud. What's with Jerome and Ty?" Adam asks.

"They both were controlled by the squids." Ryan replies.

Adam nods and opens the door wider so we can walk in.

"Mitch! are you okay?" Seto asks, walking into view.

"Yeah, I'll be better when I get my back all healed up and when Jerome wakes up." I smile.

"Let me see him, I think I can help with that."

Jason and Ian bring Jerome over to a bed and lay him down.

"Hand me a healing potion, that should do it." Seto says after looking Jerome up and down.

I nod and grab one of the bottles on the counter behind Jason.

Seto opens Jerome's mouth and pours the liquid in.

Jerome drinks it then his head falls to the side.

"What just happened?" I ask, concerned.

"Don't worry, the potion is healing Jerome and fighting whatever the squids put inside of him."

I sigh in relief and sit down next to him.

'Come back soon.'

A/N

Should I add some Merome and SkyLox into this story?

I personally ship them, but I don't want it to cannon (If that makes since)

Also, the whole 'Seto's magic can't reach inside the castle' thing... yeah that might be confusing since he could talk to Jerome and maybe Jason, Quentin and Ryan in previous chapters.

The part where he's talked to Ryan, Jason and Quentin was a hoax made by the squids to make Jason and Quentin believe that Ryan was actually helpful and not a squid.

Seto did actually talk to Jerome somehow, but after that Seto couldn't talk to anyone inside.

Tell me if it doesn't make since and I'll try to help you understand it a little better.
