Ch. 6: Attacked

Mitch's POV

"Adam!" I yell as I look at Adam on the ground.

I bend down next to him and pick him up.

"We need to get him back to base." I say.

"I'll teleport us there." Seto says and closes his eyes.

Theres a bright purple flash and we are back at the base.

"Take him to my room." Seto commands.

I nod and run into Seto's room.

I place Adam on Seto's bed and exit his room.

Seto rushes in the room with his arms full of pinkish potions.

I put my face in my hands and sigh.

"He'll be okay Biggums, don't worry." Jerome reassures.

I look up at him.

"I can't help but feel like it's my fault though. He saved me and might die because of it... I should be the one in there." I mumble at the end.

Jerome slaps my face.

"If it weren't for you I would be in there so don't even start with that." he growls.

"I'm sorry Biggums." I say and hug him.

He hugs back then releases.

"For now we can only pray to Notch that he'll be okay, okay? this isn't anyone's fault but the squids." Jerome says.

I nod. "Thanks Jerome, you always know how to cheer a Benja up." I chuckle.

"Well in Bacca we trust for Benja we must." Jerome says.

"I think you've got it flipped but whatever." I chuckle.

"Want to get some fish?" he asks.

"I would love some vile creatures." I slurp.

Jerome rolls his eyes. "Humans."

I chuckle and we walk into the kitchen.

"You know, I feel as though you would be a squid mutant also if Quentin hadn't knocked Adam out." I say to Jerome while grabbing a cooked fish.

He grabs a raw one and looks at me.

"Yeah, but you were asleep and unaware of what was going on. It's fine dude... Lets just move on from it." He says.

Jerome digs his fangs into the raw fish and rips it's head off.

He swallows it and slurps.

"Yum." He rubs his tummy with a satisfied smile.

I hold up my fish and take a bite out of it.

"That's Gucci!" I exclaim.

"Yeah buddy!" Jerome says.

"Hey Jerome, Mitch. Come here!" Seto's voice echoes in the kitchen.

"Coming!" we reply in sync.

I run down the hallway, towards Seto's room.

"What's up Seto?" I ask, meeting him in front of his door.

"Adam's lucky to be alive. He wants to talk to you two." he says, opening the door for us.

I look over to Jerome then walk into the room, Jerome close behind.

"Hey Adam." I say quietly.

"Hey Mitch." Adam manages to whisper.

"How ya doin' buddy?" Jerome pipes up.

"Alright. Better now that Shadows gone."

"Who?" I ask.

"The other Sky." He explains.

"Ah."

"So what do you need to talk to us about?" Jerome asks.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for hurting you while Shadow was controlling me and don't blame yourselves for anything."

"Thanks Adam, that means a lot." I say.

"Have you guys seen Ty? I haven't seen him since before the battle." Adam asks.

I give Jerome a worried look.

"We haven't seen him either." Jerome says.

Adam starts to sit up in his bed.

"We need to go look for him." he mumbles.

"Adam, your too weak and still trying to recover from the poison... let us go." Jerome says.

"Are you guys sure?"

Me and Jerome look at each other them back at Adam and nod.

"Alright. Tell Seto and the others before you leave." he relaxes, propped up against his head board.

I nod and walk out of the room, Jerome close behind.

"Ready to go?" he asks pulling out his axe from behind his back.

"Let me grab my bow." I say, running to our room.

I look around our room for my bow with little success.

"Biggums have you seen my bow?" I yell to Jerome while looking under my bed.

"Looking for this?" a voice says from the doorway.

I look up at the person and gasp.

Jerome was being dragged away, unconscious, by a squid behind something I thought I'd never meet face to face.

It had my bow dangling in it's slimy tenticals.

"what do you want Nega Squid." I growl.

"I want Sky back. And so far I've almost got him." he smirks.

I stand up off of the ground.

"What did you do?"

"He's still in the sorcerer's room. The only person in our way is him and you. but lucky for me, soon one of them will be eliminated." he smirks then throws a glass bottle filled with a dark purple liquid at my feet.

It lands before I can react and I fall to the ground, too weak to stand.

"Much better."

"You won't get away with this Squid." I grumble as I try to stand.

"Weakness potions are the best aren't they?" Nega Squid sneers.

I roll my eyes.

I look out in the hallway past Nega Squid and see a herd of squids trying to fight Seto.

"Stay strong Seto!" I yell to him.

"Oh shut up." the squid says.

He pulls out another potion and throws it on me, causing me to pass out.
