Ch. 5: Fighting

Adam's POV

I wake up to nothing but red.

It was everywhere I looked. I saw nothing but this blood red color all around me.

'What the-' my thoughts stop when a grey box comes floating towards me.

I want to back away, but there is a wall keeping me from moving.

It stops within arms reach.

I read the words on it and gasp.

The words 'Respawn' are written on it.

'Did I die?'

None of us have died before and really didn't want to because we had no idea if we would respawn or not.

I punch the box and it explodes in a flash if white.

When I can see again I'm in my own bed.

'I've got to stop Shadow!'

I try to sit up in my bed, but I'm pulled down by something.

I look around and growl silently.

Squids were holding me down.

I grunt and struggle against the surprisingly strong grasp of the squids.

"Go tell The King that Sky has awoken." one of the squids holding me down says.

I groan and struggle a little more.

"Get me another potion will ya?" the squid holding down my right arm says.

"What potion?" I ask.

"Weakness potion. Maybe another strength one for me." it replies.

I struggle harder now.

'I will allow myself to be trapped when my friends are in danger.' I think.

I struggle as much as I can to get away with little success.

"I'm here with the potion." a squid says as it enters the room.

"Good, he's struggling a lot now... let's give it to him before he can get free." the squid holding my right arm said.

The other squid nods and walks over to me.

It forces my mouth open and drops the purple-ish liquid into my mouth.

I instantly start to feel really weak.

I groan in defeat and the squids smirk at me.

"Now we wait for Shadow to finish off his friends." the squid on my left says.

I sigh in defeat and stare at the ceiling.

'I wonder what my friends are going through right now...'

'We're fighting hard right now. Nobody's dead thank Notch... it's Seto by the way.' A soft voice fills my head.

'Jimmy! oh thank Notch you can read my thoughts. Can you come rescue me? I'm being held captive in my bed.' I think.

'Already on my way.' he responds.

A second later a squid walks in.

"You can go. King squid says it's useless to hold the prisoner down when he can barely move." it's says.

The squids look at each other then leave the room.

After the door closes there was a purple flash and Seto stood in the place where the other squid had been standing.

"Seto!" I whisper yell.

"Hey Sky. Ready to get out of here?" he asks handing me a strength potion.

I sit up, drink it and nod.

"Let's go before someone dies." I say.

We climb out the window and run into a nearby forest.

We run till we hear swords clashing together.

"Their still fighting Shadow." I say.

Seto nods.

"Let's go join them." he says then runs in the direction of the battle.

I follow and enter the clearing.

Everyone looks tired and worn out from fighting.

Jerome and Mitch are fighting Shadow while Ian, Quentin, Ryan, and Jason are fighting random squids.

Seto hands me a Budder sword and I run at Shadow.

Shadow had somehow knocked Jerome into a tree and he had Mitch at sword point.

He then raises his sword ready to strike and I get there just in time to block the attack.

"What?!" he yells.

I watch Mitch up as I face Shadow.

"This is our fight, not theirs." I growl.

"Then let's fight." He smirks.

I ready my sword and he charges at me.

I block his attack and try to stab his side.

It works but as soon as I pull out my sword, the skin goes back into place.

Shadow smirks and raises his sword to attack again.

I block it but it hits my arm.

"Gah!" I yell as the sword cuts through my skin.

"Doesn't feel good does it?" Shadow taunts.

I hold my arm and look at the cut.

There was something green that had gotten into the wound.

'Poison!'

"If you don't bleed out, the poison will get you. If us squids can't have you, no one can." He grunts and tries to stab me through the heart.

I dodge it quickly and put my sword into his chest.

He gasps and falls to the ground.

He starts to cough up a black liquid and explodes into a million pixels.

I feel my knees buckle and I fall to the ground.

"Adam!" I hear someone yell and I black out.
