Forever in the Dark

Chapter 1

×^Rosa's Flashback×^

"So you're actually moving?" Rosa's best friend, Marie was saying. "Yep.." Rosa said quietly. Rosa had been caught with vodka in her room and her super religious aunt and uncle's punishment was sending her away to her abusive, alcoholic, drug-addicted, so-called-parents. Marie was helping Rosa carry her bags out to her aunt's beat up Subaru. "Why did you do something so stupid?" Marie asking, sounding annoyed. "Its not my fault!" Rosa defended. Marie sighed gave Rosa a huge hug. Rosa's aunt and uncle came out and told Rosa it was time to go. That was Rosa's last time ever seeing Marie again....

*End Of flashback *

Rosa snapped back into focus when she heard the front door slam shut. That was the normal sound she heard when her parents left to go get wasted. It was normal to hear it every night.

Rosa was just a teenager, about to turn 16.  She had long, silk-like auburn hair, which had always smelled of apricots and cantaloupes, thanks to her garnier fructis sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner, almond shaped greenish blue eyes and cute little pink lips with a small button nose. Rosa didn't really have any friends to talk to, no Facebook, no Instagram, Just a crappy phone. All she really had was music to keep her occupied.

Time flew by for Rosa, as she was blasting Alesana through her headphones. She couldn't hear herself think, but she almost jumped when she heard the front door slam. "Rosa! Ass down here now!" Her intoxicated mother screamed.

Rosa groaned, ripped her headphones out of her ears, and slowly walked down stairs. Her mom had a can of beer in her hand (How the hell is she still drinking?!) and was nearly falling over, while her dad was downing a whole bottle of vodka. Rosa could see little bits of white powder on his nose, so he is hyped on coke. Not a good combination...

"You were supposed to clean the house for me, because I am having a party this weekend you-" Her mother started drunkenly yelling. Rosa rolled her eyes. "You stupid little cunt. Why were you born in the first place? We already know you were going to say that. Rosa said. Her mother glared at her, but when Rosa saw her dad walk over to her, she felt her whole body shake. That's when he clocked her in the head and she was instantly knocked to the ground

"What the fuck is your problem?" Rosa screamed. "Punishment is needed for a little bitch like you!" Rosa's mother slurred and screamed at the same time. Rosa's mom grabbed her by the hair and repeatedly slammed her face against the wall. Rosa's breath was instantly knocked out of her. Tears began to drip off her cheek.

"Now take the punishment, accordingly!" Rosa's dad screamed in her felt-like-broken face. Her dad grabbed a glass jar from the table and smashed it right over Rosa's head. "Mommy...Daddy..." Rosa choked out, and she began to sob. "Get your little cunt ass back up the stairs. You have school!" Rosa's mother yelled and pushed her toward the stairs.

Rosa cried out. "Thanks a fucking bunch!" She quickly dodged up the steps, made her way down the hall to her room and slammed the door and locked it. Rosa slammed on to her bed and tears began to fall on her bed sheets.

Why do my parents insist on doing this? Why must they hurt me? Was I not good enough? Was I an embarrassment? A mistake? Her thoughts repeated in her head. Rosa began to cry harder and her heart banged against he'd rib cage. She screamed into her pillow. She couldn't dare let her parents hear her.

Rosa got up and went to the middle dresser drawer and dug inside. She found her razorblade she kept in a box and sat on the floor. One cut. Two cuts. Three cuts. Five cuts. Each one deeper than the last. Blood started go drip on her pajama pant leg.

She put away her razor blade and took out pretty blue painkillers, yellow stay awake pills, and red diet pills. Take me to the rainbow. She poured out 3 painkillers, 6 stay awake pills, and 4 diet pills. She took them all down and rinsed out with water. The numbing pain she felt before slowly began to ease away. It felt better. Relaxing.

Rosa put away all her weapons back into her dressed drawer and crawled back into bed. She located her blue nano on her window stand and blasted "Give me a Sign" by Breaking Benjamin.

Rosa just stared blankly at the wall until 4:30 a.m, listening to  music. Soon enough, her 6:00 alarm played and she quickly pushed "dismiss."

Her new hell awaits....
