Were sitting in class in our usual spot.

"I have graded last weeks geography examination and the highest score was achieved by...."Mr.Feeny was cut off.

"Minkus.Was it achieved by Minkus?Does it go to Minkus?Minkus.Right?"Cory said and I chuckled.

"Mr.Minkus."Feeny said then handed Minkus his paper.

"Shocker."I said sarcastically.

"Thank you Mr.Feeny.Your bonus question was a real stumper."Minkus said.Then Shawn threw a paper ball at Minkus's head."Ow."

"Ms.Owens,Excellent.Mr.Baker,Very nice.Mr.Mathews,well there it is."Mr.Feeny said passing out the test.

Cory looked at his paper."A C?But I actually studied for the test.Why did I get a C?"

"Let's see."Feeny said taking Cory's test."Where to begin..Well,for one thing Mr.Matthews this section of the map is not East Germany."

"It's not?"Cory asked

"Perhaps you've heard of a little incident called the Berlin wall."Feeny said

"Was that during the baseball season?"Cory questioned.

"There is no East Germany anymore."Feeny said

"But the text book says it's right next to West Germany."Cory argued.

"Yes,well the text book also says that Alaska and Hawaii would make fine states someday.Things change Mr.Matthews unfortunately the board of education doesn't the funds to keep up."Mr.feeny said then handed me my test."Ms.Parish,well you did better I guess."

I looked at the teat and saw a C-."Alright moving up the chain!"I yelled and Shawn High fived me.

"Well,how am I supposed to keep up?"Cory asked Mr.Feeny.

"Watch the news.Pay attention in class.Look at the mimeograph.I give you before you turn them in planes."Feeny told Cory.

Me and Shawn then threw paper airplanes at Minkus's head."Ow."

"What good would it do?They keep changing Geography,why can't it be like all the other subjects?Math,2+2 always equals 4.Science,the earth always goes round.History,Lincoln always gets shot in the head."Cory said.

"Lincoln got off easy."Mr.Feeny said.

"People I got something to say."I said and everyone looked at me so I stood up."Is no one going to acknowledge the fact that I Elizabeth Parish got a C-?"I asked and everyone clapped."Thank you I can tell you meant that."I then sat down.

After awhile in class Feeny made an announcement."All right heads up,in these few moments in class I was to make an announcement,about this years regional geography tournament.As some of you may know the past 5 years I have always fielded a champion and I expect the same this year.So,based on his outstanding elastic achievement I have selected as this years intr-"

Mr.Feeny was cut off by Cory."Minkus.Was it achieved by Minkus?"

"Mr.Minkus."Feeny said then he walked over to his desk."And this years first prize.."

"A mercator projection pull down wall map?"Minkus asked.

"No.Uh,this years winner will be bat boy at the opening game of the world series."Mr.Feeny told Minkus.

Minkus frowned."Oh."

Cory turned to Shawn and I."Did you hear that?"

"So?"I asked.

"So i'm seeing my dream come true here."Cory said.

"Yeah right Cory,like feeny's taking you to the geography tournament.You didn't even know that they tore down the Berlin wall."Shawn said.
