We were in Feeny's class saying the pledge of allegiance.
"I Pledge allegiance, to the flag."I said with my hand over my heart standing up."of the Untied States of America.And to the republic, for which it stands, one nation under God.Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
We all sat down and I realized that Topanga didn't stand for the pledge of allegiance.
Feeny walked towards her."Ms.Lawrence I couldn't help,but notice that you didn't resite the pledge of allegiance with the rest of the class."
"Yes sir.I elected not to."Topanga said.
Feeny looked suprised."Oh.And why is that?"
"I didn't feel like it."Topanga said.
Cory turned to Shawn and I rubbing his hands together."This is going to be cool."
"What was that Mr.Matthews?"Feeny asked.
"Uh...I said this is going to be cool."Cory said.
"Why?"Feeny asked.
"Because your finally going to nail Topanga for being weird."Cory answered.
"Do you think it's weird to engage in a social protest?"Feeny asked
"I think it's weird to pick on me when she didn't say the pledge of allegiance."Cory said
"Well,Mr.Matthews it seems that you and Ms.Lawrence have an opposing position for this morning debate."Feeny said
"Uh oh."Cory said
"You've been set up bud."Minkus said.
Cory leaned over his desk towards Topanga."Mr.Feeny told you not to say the pledge?"
Topanga just smiled.
"Topanga that was a good one."I said and we high fived.
"Today's social studies discussion are american tradition.The pledge of allegiance vs social protest.Mr.Matthews defend all gory.Ms.Lawrence defend the right to dissent."Feeny said.
Cory and Topanga stood up and stood next to each other.
"Just because it's tradition doesn't mean you have to do it."Topanga said.
"But it's the pledge of allegiance it takes like 10 seconds to say.Why can't you say it and make everybody happy?"Cory asked.
"Because if i'm forced to do it just because of some tradition I don't understand.Then it doesn't make me happy."Topanga said while holding a hand to her heart.
"Can you spell peculiar?"Cory asked.
"Oh and your normal?You talk to the flag everyday and you don't even know what your saying."Topanga said.
"But I do it.I do it because i'm supposed to do it and that's what makes me a good american."Cory said then Shawn and I started to make a trumpet noise."That's what makes this Country great.That flag.Because that flag gives the right to have this discussion,and this discussion will be the most important discussion we'll ever have."The bell then rang."Outta here."
We all got up and ran out of class.

Shawn and Cory went up to the vending machine to get their drinks.I didn't get anything because I didn't have the money.Shawn and Cory walked back and Shawn put a drink in front of me.
"What's this?"I asked.
"Well it looks like Strawberry."Shawn said.
"You know what I meant."I said
