As Elsa paced the room, anxiously waiting for news of the troops, she tried to put a stop to the unease she felt. Anna was right, as much as it pained her to admit. Bastien was a horrid person, and certainly not fit to sit on the throne. She tried to think of a way to put a stop to the marriage, but all of those options seemed to end with severed ties or strained relations.

Sighing, she walked towards a window that was overlooking a courtyard. Below, a general was watching young soldiers spar. The boy on the right trip over his feet and fell, laughing at his own foolish mistake. Elsa looked away. She couldn't bear to imagine sending him into the battlefield if this war continued.

Elsa brought her hands to her head, gently massaging her temples. Pitch Black had never been a problem previously. He had taken advantage of the chaos that ensued after she froze Arendelle and severed ties with Weselton. Trade agreements, contracts, and travel all had to be halted or altered to cope with the change. Other countries had changed their relations with not only Weselton, but the Southern Isles as well after the incident. Papers upon papers found their way onto Elsa's desk along with hours and hours of meetings with royals and palace officials alike. While the countries were busy sorting out their new agreements, Pitch Black, it seemed, was busy waging wars.

Pitch Black was not always a king. In fact, he was a revered military general who fought alongside Arendelle during her father's reign. However, when treaties were signed and agreements were made, Pitch was unsatisfied with how things turned out. He felt as if his country was cheated, and made his stance clear to his king. However, the king did not wish to continue the fighting. He felt as if it was a waste of human lives and resources. Pitch was enraged. He fled the royal army, abandoning his post and his kingdom. Many of the country's citizens thought he had fled to another country, but he emerged ten years later, still angry and thirsting for revenge.

Amidst the flurry of new treaties and discussions regarding relations, Pitch Black led his newly formed army and slowly started seizing small towns. Bit by bit, he consumed his former country. By the time the neighbouring countries realized there was a terrible threat, they were consumed by Pitch Black's army. The six kingdoms alliance, while new and still unsteady, vowed to stop Pitch Black and his armies.

A/N: oh my god y'all it's been how many years since I updated? Wild I know. Anyways, I'm still not sure if I'm going to continue this story though I do know where I want it to go. I want to edit a lot since I did write this a long time ago. Please reread the previous chapter (or you know, the entire thing since it's been so long) because I did take out something. Thanks for reading, and leave me a comment if you want me to continue! - crystal
